About 3 months actually working now. This is my 10th spoon but it's the first one that's fully coil-potted. All the others were on-tube designs to get the hang of actually making a pipe.

Only been blowing for a couple weeks now, all the time before that I was working solid, just experimenting with marbles and pendants, getting a feel for the way the glass flows.

Made the pipe a few days ago, the pendants several weeks ago. Can not wait until I am able to devote myself to this full-time!

Thanks for looking and for your constructive criticism.

-Vaj

Love the high rez images, though I downloaded them all because they wouldn't fit in my browser window, but now I have images I can make backgrounds out of for my PC and phone.

Love the fume work and the colors. I can't wait to get started.

Looking good, is that spoon made with Aurora?

Man, it really takes some huge balls to call yourself "Vaj" around this place. Talk about leaving yourself "open"...

:o:

^the fact that 10 or 12 tasteless jokes wanted to flow from my brain to here makes me think I should just leave this one alone... :)

Thanks Swampy, was just getting to that....

And as for leaving myself "open", my first name is Vajra. I guess I could have kept it a secret? Sticks and stones bro.

Yes the spoon is Aurora, the mouthpiece is GA Black (Violet).

GIMP (http://gimp.org) Works well as well. And it is open source.

Also try paint.net (http://paint.net/)
Was originally to replace windows paint... has a lot of photoshoppy features such as as layers, effects, multiple resizing algorithms, etc....
So as not to thread jack -

Wow Vaj!!!!!!! you were resizing your pics when i "poked in" a minute ago... :D
Your work is VERY NICE... Are you learning solo or do you have someone helping you??? Either way looks way better than my "work."

The bail on the bottom pendant is perfect from the viewing angle.... The spoon looks killer, too... Diggin the coil carb:) (when i tried the results were not nearly as pleasing to the eye.)

And no offense taken man, I wrote that with a smile on my face.

Thanks a lot Sideshow! Still working on getting the carb weld clean.

I've never worked with anyone, only just recently had the chance to watch my buddy in action. Learnt most everything from the 'net, but I have been making some connections around town and can definitely see myself working with some heads in the future. Cowboy lives right outside town and my buddy knows him, so you never know.... A little wishful thinking never hurt anybody, that cat's work is insane!

Cowboy's stuff is top-notch. A friend of mine took a class with him last year and it seems like he must be a good teacher too, dude's work took a big jump forward after that. I'm sure he'd be down to work something out with you.

I kinda hope to have a chance to colab with him one day, when I'm good enough. If nothing else a Cowboy and Hoss piece just has a certain logic to it. :cowboy:

I love that very first pipe, with the blues and browns it looks like it belongs in some sophisticated commercial for an Aston Martin :)

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I'm in lawrence Kansas. I see you're around town as well obscure. You wouldn't happen to have some warm bench space available in town for the winter? Freezing my ass off in the garage these days. Any Lawrence heads feel free to hook a brother up.
