Talk to a sheet metal place. They should be able to make you something.

Depends on where you are, but we always use Al's Sheetmetal for projects in Eugene.

I bought mine from glass craft. When I screwed it together it was kinda crooked but it's fine pressed up against the brackets really tight with the chains. A sheetmetal place could hook you up with the same thing to your measurments. The fan can go on either side with the glass craft hood and Rich I believe is the man who probably does this stuff all the time.

Call around. With the economy being what it is there are plenty of great deals to be had. I recently had a 5'X10' hood fabricated and delivered for $350.

Mike, if you are still down south, try Prescott hardware and sheet metal. They did all of Sweet Water's hoods. They're a little pricey, but they do great work. They may be slow and needing the bus. right now which could = savings.

Im with JTanner. I called around to get a hood made. Finally came across a place that was willing to make me a 4x6 galvanized hood for 300 bucks.

When the guy called me to deliver it(for free) he mentioned that he had some stainless left over from another project and just made my hood from that.(I dont have to tell you a stainless hood of that size would probably cost a thousand or even more)

Are you talking about Prescott Hardware and Sheetmetal in Artesia California?

That is correct! They are nice folks to deal with. If I was still in the area I would have gone to them for my last hood.

I agree with building them. I saw a post somewhere here suggesting filing cabinets. They work surprisingly well.

Simple Breakdown:

Get filing cabinets (ours cost $15 each from used furniture store)

Take drawers out and cut off top and bottom

Open them up and brace them with a bar of what-have-you
