just got back from a class at mike fro's shop with banjo, awesome experience, tons of talented cats were there. figured i'd start my work thread with the stemless i made at that class. i work on a lynx, first touched a torch in 2005, started making tobacco accesories about a year ago. let me know what ya think..

thanks you crazy cats! the colors are green amber purple and havana moonlight, but i thin them out over 9mil clear and pull them back down to 7 mil before i do the encasement of the clear blank. this piece is also unstruck at the moment so it may change a bit when it's annealed. the class was done and i wanted to start my drive so we crashed one kiln so a few of us could leave with our stuff. year swampy, the class was amazing. really opened my eyes to a lot of stuff..

I dig the production work, it's looking nice and clean. I like the spoon with spikes, and your marias are clean and in line. If I may, it looks like you're working these colors in too reducing a flame before encasing them, try either dropping the propane pressure, or just working in a hissier oxy rich flame before encasement.
Where abouts in Rhode Island are you? I grew up largely in Providence before moving out west. I appreciate the east coast humor (people are way too nice to eachother here out west. In a place where people complain that the government is making it rain to bum us out, we need to ability to tell a stranger to shut the hell up more than anywhere).

thanks din, they're actually thinned out colors that i don't encase. i coil color around 9mil clear and pull it back down to 7mil-ish then i stripe or coil onto clear tube. i rarely work reducing with my prep, but i'll keep that in mind from now on, thanks. i've been playing with marias a lot recently, and donuts too.
as far as rhody goes, i went to school in coventry, but i grew up on hope street. now i'm down by the beach in kingston.
i lived in arcata california for a bit, and i was confused by how polite people are when you're not in new england. pleasant, but sometimes boring..

The last piece in this last cluster of pics is downright fly, great s-curve. Seriously, I've been struggling with bends forever, been shown techniques by a bunch of people (who I eventually concluded also had no idea what they were doing), and pouring over pics of the great benders (Colton!!), I'm really impressed by what's developing here. Really excellent work man, keep it up.

Do people use them in other ways? I've never seen anyone use a Chillum before, but I new that the traditional way was holding it with your fist. I think it looks cooler with the side mouth piece!

alot of people just use them like a hitters or bats. its actually hard to find a decent chillum you can use correctly.

thanks y'all! the first is actually a thinned out mystery adventurine over heavy fume. gives a nice mellow green that shines in the sunlight but unfortunately doesn't photograph well. i make my own tubes right now, i do all my tube pulls on a lynx, but that may be changing shortly. i really appreciate all the positive feedback, i;m trying to do my best!
