hey guys hows it goin! hippi here again lol and i was wondering how you guys put writing in marbles..small marbles like like signiture marbles for pieces? i assume you gotta write what ever it is backwards but i dont see how you guys write so small.. like this blower by the name of FREEEK comes to mind he has lil implosion marbles on all his pieces...maybe a pulled milli?

maybe i need to stop asking questions and just try it lol...

milli is a nice way to get alot of sig marbles, but tube implosions are the way i do most of my marbles. blow a bubble out on some 25 mil or what ever....write backwards and implode good stringer control is a must.

the small sig marbles on Freeeks pieces are a millis. it took me so long to figure out it said freeek. the 3 es looks like a # sign. i love freeek by the way... just sayin.

but i have seen small little implosions, you just have to blow out a small bubble perty thin, then write it on with thin stringers, when you implode it back in the thin stringers will gather into a little thicker lines and rais into the glass, then you just work that like a small little pendant and if you have to add a little gather to the face to make a kind of lense. and if you want it round like more of a marble, just add a little gather to the back too.

make sure you use a small little flame so you can controll the thinner stringers better.

there is an imploded signature milli thread somewhere....use the search function

when you do a single imploded sig marble you have to write it backwards

I do them like I'm doing a tube implosion. I do a bubble on something like 44mm. I write my initials or whatever I'm writing on the bubble (doesn't matter if it's forward or backwards) then condense it down. Remove it from the tube, attach a rod to each side, then pull it down into a cane. Let it cool then cut it up into slices.

I learned that from a tutorial Nathan Miers had in Glass Line a few months back. Works like a charm.

When doing the milli you don't have to write it backwards

when condensing it back down, do you hold it at the same angle as a normal implosion?

I just hold it horizontally. Not sure if it really makes any difference though since you are going to be pulling it down to a cane...

well I held it 45 facing up and the front of the bubble collapsed in TOO fast and distorted the whole lettering so don't do it at that angle lol, at least not the way I did it, not sure if I could even xplain better

that milli tech sounds kinda fun, im going to have to try it out.

a quick tip:

I always write out what ever it is I'm imploding before I start. That way I can look at it while working with my stringer. Otherwise I'll get like 3/4's of the way through and accidentally flip a letter.

another quick tip:

i start with the middle letter or letters first so that the text is centered. nothing sucks worse than writing it out perfectly and then loosing the effect bc it didn't implode right and you can only read part of it.
