So after seeing a few positive post about aura I suggested the product to a friend of mine. Order was made over a moth ago. Was tole 2 or 3 weeks. Creditcard has been billed no tracking # no returned telephone calls. Mike if ur wondering who I'm talking about check ur voice mail or pm. Pretty disappointed to say the least

I am jacks complete lack of surprise

They have totally destroyed their rep. Search the forum and you will see. I just bought 12 pairs of glasses from phillips because aura doesn't understand business basics. I mean really, search the forum.

Aside from charging cards and then waiting weeks to even call someone to tell them their order will be to them in 2 weeks and then it arrives 2 months later, they have also invented alternative identities to take the "blame" and then they botched that.

It is really a mystery to me why a successful company would drag their reputation through the gutter in a way that seems intentional.

I would call your cc company, cancel the charge or whatever you have to do, and then order from phillips, you'll have your glasses by the end of the week

yea im familiar with thier rep, and now i feel like an asshole for recomending thier product to a friend, he tried my goggles and really liked them, and after all the flaming they got on the forum i started to see some positive feed back so i was under the impression they were getting thier shit together, guess i was wrong, really disappointed, really have to restain myself from not calling and telling them what a shitty company are, so aura if u are reading this im trying to give u guys the benifit of the doubt but ur really fucking the pooch on this one! do everyone a favor and sell ur patent to someone who give a fuck about business rep. just saying could be a way for everyone to win cuz ur product isnt going to be worth dick if no one will do business with u

Mike should finally, once and for all, be banned... he can be pretty good at fooling those who don't already know his story. How much of this crap can go on before his privilege of posting is removed?
Although I would miss the humour that comes along with his ridiculous excuses...

Check out his blog (http://auravisual.wordpress.com/). He has a list of new excuses as to why they are failing to get packages out and answer phones and email. Flu, server crash, faulty backup server, blizzard, blah blah blah.

He is supposedly staying off the forums to avoid "drama". I am sure the real reason for his absence is that he is tired of getting clowned out for being a total and obvious liar. I think he may have finally realized (after many years) that his customer base is not as retarded as he assumed that they were.

Oh, he's working on a new site too. Just as shitty as the last one.

Go Phillips man. They are just as good if not better than Auras. You also actually get them without endless bullshit too :D

just wish I could find a reliable place to get prescription lenses...

Conchis, contact Phillips. They did me a split 1/2 and 1/2 in close to the same frame that Aura was going to do for me for the same price. I wanted 2/3 shade 5 and 1/3 ACE, but since I'm blind as a bat, they could onyl do it 1/2 and 1/2 otherwise it would have been distorted.

They were great to work with. Fast shipping, friendly service, price was what I was expecting, and though they sent me the wrong frame color, they provided me a shipping label to send it back on their dime, and they're fixing it.

Can't say enough good things about Phillips. Just give Ryan a call, and as long as it's physically possible and you're willing to pay for it, he'll probably do it for you.

Dude still hasn't had the decency to return any of my emails. I hate having to say this, but Fuck AuraLens. Everytime I contacted Phillips with a concern, I spoke with a live person, and if they had to call me back, they did it within 60 minutes.

Just checked out Aura's new site, and... it looks like the old site. But I do see that they're now getting into ventilation. If cleardome's experience with the kiln is any indication, I wouldn't go anywhere near a shop running ventilation provided by Aura.

Hmmm, yeah, try asking to talk to Ryan Phillips. He's the one who said they could do it for me.

Mike is a man of many hats.. a jack of all trades maybe (i don't' know) I'm this type.. I can do anything.. everything If i put my mind to it.. But jacks never do (hopefully bullshit) any one thing better then anyone else. I don't know the inter politics or workings of this company.. I haven't been in the glass scene that long or socialize enough to even get a glimpse of it. however.. Mike (i hope your listening) I would seriously consider.. if you ever want to rebuild this rep and make your company succeed better. consider doing what you seem to fight so much.. hire people for ONE job (whatever they excel at) yea I can frame a house.. yea I can build my own tools yea I can make things work.. but why spend 10 hours on something that will take this other guy 5 hours to do.. when I could have spent those 10 hours doing what I do best..
If I make 10 and hour wiring houses.. work 10 hours thats 100$
if I work another 10 hours framing so I don't have to pay this guy.. I just lost money as I could have just made 200 and paid out 50.. instead I made 100 and lost 50... (for doing something the framer could have done faster AND better......

I hope this doesn't sound like a personal attack.. its really constructive criticism.. though I'm yet to run a busyness so I'm sure I'm missing MANY things..
(if you are still looking for the right person I know its hard.. I know I can't do everything and the older I get the less likely I find it easy to rely on anyone other then myself)

and I'm sure glassblowers aren't the easiest people to deal with either sometimes.

however.. you had a dream.. I think you genuinely wanted to make a better product in the name of eyesight.. though maybe you don't care? Idk. Its easy to get spiteful.
