yah thats super fucked up. there are knifes, and very particular sculpted pieces that are clearly from gp. what i'm wondering, is how many of these pieces have they made? Do you think that they actually have made 10 or 20 or 100 of each style, or do they wait and see what people order and then try to cobble something together, or maybe just take the $$ and they never actually make or ship anything? or send a box of crappy spoons.
Aside from paying big bucks for something like a digimark subscription, put text across your images. It's not fail-safe, but a deterrent. Kinda like a bike lock. It won't stop the determined thief, but it will discourage the opportunist. I didn't include it in my example, but typing a copywrite symbol (©) on a mac is done by holding the alt key and pressing g. On a pc, hold the control and alt key together and press c.
For example:

Here is the link to digimarc. The have all different levels of protection. I have no affiliation with them. Unfortunately, laws are only as good as they are enforceable and I question how far one would get chasing these ripofff artists on copywrite infringement.

I was gonna try and shut them down by putting in copyright infringment complaints to the hosting provider, but I think its a commie host. Commies don't give a fuck about law. I seriously hope we get someone in office with balls big enough tell China "hey fuckers, any chinese cargo ships we see will be immediately sunk, no prisoners taken"
Course we gotta kill the shithead american corporate goons that make this happen first.
I think you guys need to read this:

We need to protect ourselves and each other from this crap. These people have zero ethics. Pay attention to the minimum orders and the monthly production capacity that they list next to each piece. Its staggering to think of our stolen work being reproduced on such a scale.

Chinese exporters need American distributors to sell to. Who is buying their stuff? Find out and publicize them. What is needed to combat the price advantage they have is a broad-based belief by consumers that American-made is better. Sort of the "Mercedes-Benz" approach to branding. This may take time, but is worth pursuing. Getting the Chinese into a debate about who makes better bongs is a fight we want to have. Since all the demand is here in the west, we have a huge advantage.
They are not constrained by the usual code of ethics American artisans are. Do not expect them to change their business practices any time soon. Fight them where they are weak. Calling a lathe a "machine for making bongs" is a clear hint. Ridicule can be a very effective weapon.

preface: This isn't to defend Chinese glass importers or their quality - it's a reality check.
Chinese exporters need American distributors to sell to. Who is buying their stuff?
It's not hard info to find. There was a recent thread here about one company in LA that is a major importer of Chinese made pipes and exporter of US made color. This forum represents such a small fraction of pipe makers in the US and essentially none of the end retail buyers that even if we had the info what could we do with it? It's not illegal to import tobacco accessories as long as they're properly declared on customs forms and the taxes/tariffs paid.
Find out and publicize them.
It's an interesting idea, and I'm sure many of us would be interested but in the end...tell who? The retail customers generally don't care, the shops already know...what's left... law/code enforcement? They're on to it also, but they can't be everywhere and stop everything. If they're stopping 5% of illegal drugs getting into the US where do you think they're at with pipes?
Go to any imports-only pipe shop and talk to the owner, see if they care. They don't. Many of them think it's funny that anyone else would care. They're making money, that's all that matters.
What is needed to combat the price advantage they have is a broad-based belief by consumers that American-made is better. Sort of the "Mercedes-Benz" approach to branding. This may take time, but is worth pursuing.
But Chinese glass _IS_ good. You can't expect to lie to consumers and get away with it for very long. Sure, a lot of imported glass is not great, but you get what you pay for, no matter where it comes from. I have seen glass from China that is on par with some of the higher end production from US shops. Given time their product will only get better.
Getting the Chinese into a debate about who makes better bongs is a fight we want to have. Since all the demand is here in the west, we have a huge advantage.
They have neither the time nor desire for such a debate - they're too busy filling 18 hour shifts at the Bong Factory.
...anyways... I hear the concern all around, but if people in the US gave a shit about "Made in the USA" Wal-Mart would be out of business and our Buying Power would be much lower than it is today. China is the dominant force in the manufacturing world, Glass Pipes are such a small concern for them that wasting any time discussing it means orders not getting filled, which is bottom line. Who cares what they call a lathe? It _IS_ a Bong Making Machine if that's what you're using it. If I call a Truck a "Device for moving people around" it doesn't mean it's not capable of pulling a boat or blowing up in an action movie... it's just a choice of words, and in my experience Chinese businessmen don't have time to worry about semantics.
There are few ways I see that would work to put a crimp in the flow of Chinese made pipes into the US:
Tariff the hell out of them to the point that a $3 spoon costs $10-15 to get into a port.
Enact laws against the import of pipes / tobacco products period.
Make a truly competitive product; open a factory, train illegal aliens to make pipes, pay them $4 an hour, and use Chinese raw materials.
Make a comparable product and market the hell out of it; open a factory, pay unemployed legal workers $7.50 an hour, use Chinese raw materials,
naming names, trash talking products, and boycotting Chinese pipes might make a few people feel better about themselves, but it does nothing to stop the underlying problem.
There's money in Chinese pipes. Consumers demand $5 heady spoons. Someone will supply them.

.... and with all those pieces of software mentioned you still are feeling effected? If you've ran all those things and your machine is still running like garbage, do yourself a favor, backup and re-install OS. When a machine starts running like this it could be all sort of things from what your mentioning to your registry , could be a shit ton of old files pointing dll's all over the place , the list my friend is HUGE. Just re-install and you'll be fast once more.
Be glad to help, PM me to ask anything about it. GL and peace
edit to add - they could most certainly of added some sort of tracker cookie or something of this nature. As long as you didn't download anything from them or install anything for your browser "after" landing on their page I strongly doubt they did a thing to your computer. It takes us on the other side to "push" the correct button to download something. Thing is, they are getting really good at making you push that button without even realizing you've done so. Golden Rule, when in doubt don't ever download or push something you even think might be bad .... more then likely it is! Here is an example ... you go to a webpage ... it looks just like what you've always expected BUT: last night little jimmy janky decides to hack said site ... what he does is put a redirect so now your sitting on his site that he's build to look just like the OG site ... gotcha .... one more .... someone from this board sends me an email .... I recognize the name so I open it ..... as soon as I hit the open the script ran it's course in under 3 seconds, I didn't notice a thing ..... BUT .... the script just put a tracker on my computer so it now can - track every key stroke and report back for passwords, credit cards and such ..... it also when into my address book and sent a email, in my name to all my buddies who in turn ... yep ... opened up the email thinking it was from someone they trusted and BOOM ... now you see how easy it is and like I said ... they are getting better and smarter. Just fyi
Thanks for the help, but I can't re-install the OS, it's a work computer and I don't have the disks.

wtf? If you were half as smart as your shoe looks, you'd still be retarded ...
Robert's got the gist of it, concentrate on quality ... I'd add to that: work on your skill level to a point where you're creating something so unique that it's going to be too much of a pain in the ass for someone to work out how to make, if, indeed, they can. Don't be surprised if your prodo is copied, don't be surprised if your easy techniques get copied (which undoubtedly you've copied in the first place, and I don't mean that as a bad thing necessarily) ... after all, students learn by copying their teachers, or copying some hack on youtube, or out of a book ... get to a stage where you can make that glass yours, and strive to make it perfect, that way you're doing yourself and everyone else in the industry a huge favour. Keeping a step ahead is the name of the game! ;)

It sounds like you have a keylogger, which is very common in Chinese websites; if you're running Mozilla Firefox, you should install NoScript, and that way you'll be able to control every element which tries to load on your browser, for the most part. If you're using Google Chrome, I would suggest NotScripts...it's a bit different, not quite as safe as NoScript, but functions quite similarly. Ghostery helps, too.
My ways might be a bit archaic, but last I knew, there was no way to get rid of a keylogger by standard antivirus technology and the like. I think it has to be 'hand' removed by finding it, or you have to reformat your computer completely to get rid of it. They have the capacity to be very dangerous and steal the information you input into websites...including credit card information and the like. Get rid of it ASAP.
EDIT: I know this is a few weeks late, but this is up for people's general information, too. Be very careful with Chinese websites and links; I'm not racist, but being a previous gamer nerd, I remember all the people whose accounts would get stolen and ruined because of a keylogger embedded in a page. In the worst of cases, credit card and other personal information/passwords were taken...be careful, guys.

little snitch is a very effective program that monitors your outgoing connections and tells you what programs are using what ports to connect to what server and gives you the option to allow or deny the connections never, once, or always. I dont like programs that "auto update" and report back to their mothership, esp adobe stuff so i got it for that but its very useful for a variety of things.
Thanks for the tips, guys. I'll try that little snitch program. I've tried a few things, but nothing has gotten rid of it, yet.

Keylogging is a functional of a typical trojan. Most viruses these days perform functions such as that in order to gather your banking/paypal passwords, etc. They can be removed be antivirus programs like any other malware.
The reason I think that 'contacting blahbalh.com' appearing in your browser isn't indicative of any sort of malware infection is that the malware would not be using your browser to access the internet once it was on your system. Unless you've somehow installed a dodgy add-on, malware isn't usually infecting your browser itself or working through your browser.
Malware can be installed on your computer by websites using browser exploits. That means unlike the typical scenario, where someone runs a program that's infected, you don't have to do anything - simply viewing the website can compromise your system. The most common attack vectors are Adobe Flash and Java, which is why it's a good idea to disable plugins when possible. However, every once in a while exploits are found in the browsers themselves and there's not much you can do (except, as noted above run a system that would not typically be a target of malware authors, such as Linux or a Mac).
While it's true that sites in China, Russia or Eastern Europe more commonly host malware than Western sites, avoiding those sites does not keep you safe. There have been instances of ad networks found on large, mainstream sites distributing malware (in the form of a Flash exploit which installs a key logger, see? ) http://www.infoworld.com/t/malware/cyber-criminals-strike-ad-networks-again-015
Also, anyone in one of those countries could just go register a .com domain and you have no way of telling the country of origin.
For monitoring your system, an application firewall like Comodo can be good, to let you know when odd things are going on. That can catch viruses/keyloggers based on behavior, when antivirus programs might not be able to detect that particular piece of malware yet.
If you do think something weird is going on, analyzing running services and applications with http://free.antivirus.com/hijackthis/]HijackThis can tell you if something unusual is running. Of course, you have to know what is expected and what's not for the report to make sense - there are security forums and stuff which can help analyze your HijackThis results.
