ANyone use one of the china freights cherry pickers to lift a full liquid tank? They are rated for 2000# ands liquids only around 800#. Just wondering if anyone has used one before I try and find a used one for sale.

Not that easy. I have a 4 wide trailer 16 inches off the ground. There is a ramp but still seems sketchy. I could try it though. How hard is it to lift it back upright.

oh its full, yeah it would bleed all the liquid off. How far do you have to move it?

I considered building a loading dock at the same height of my trucks tailgate. you might have some weight restrictions though. You could just build a dock or deck level with the trailer bed. Are you picking these tanks up from your supplier and bringing them back to your studio?

i found a guy in my town that has a 16 foot box truck with a massive lift gate, i pay him to deliver for me because the oxyjerks won't deliver to my house (residential). its more expensive than the company charges but its less of a pain in the ass than doing it myself. craigslist has all kinds of folks lookin to make a buck.

I considered building a raised platform to roll it onto . I still need to measure the height of the door unless I put casters on the platform.

I just got it off my friends trailer totally by accident. He took the hitch off while it was in my driveway to try and move the trailer but the tank was on the tongue and was too heavy to lift by hand. . I didn't realize the trailer was detached from the truck. I went to move the tank over the axle of the trailer to lessen the weight of the tongue . The bed was super slippery due to Oregon moss and rain. Well the front of the trailer popped up into the air. The tank and I slid across the trailer til we hit the tall rear gate that doubles as a loading ramp. Luckily the ramp was up and locked. It stopped us from sliding. I used the tiedowns to secure the top of the tank, dropped the gate and rolled the tank onto the driveway, What a pain in the ass. I got lucky it didnt thrash my tailgate.

I still need a safe and easy way to get it off in the future though.

since this is a regular need I would do something more permanent. I don't know if you own your place but you could do a hoist using some i beams and pullies. Sounds pretty invasive but you could also use wood if it were covered. Maybe like a triple 2 x12 header on top of some 12 ft 6x6's? Just remember to move the tank by the welded loops on the tank, not the ring that you spin the tank by when your moving it.

I think the loading dock is your cheapest safest option if you can make it work.

how about even maybe a dolly of some sort with castors on the bottom secered with a good tye down strap, and some way to roll it up the ramp with a come along or a winch.

I still need to measure the height of the door unless I put casters on the platform.

DUDE, you need to measure the height of the door?
I knew you were an elf.

Orange one right? Swear to god, we owned one of those a few years ago and a pin snapped in it when it was lifting around 500 pounds.. they wouldn't just replace the pin either. they said we had to return the whole thing.. Would NEVER use that for a liquid..

just buy a shitty trailer and keep the liquid on it the whole time....
