im looking to get an oxygen regulator. and the medical regs seem to have a better price. has anyone had any experience trying this?

You mean oxygen concentrators? If so, I have 2 M-15's for my Barracuda and it works fine. They're not medical units but reconditioned and not for medical use. I wish I had a third sometimes. Not doing bottled oxy is awesome and saves bucks, but not being able to go really big isn't.

Go on Ebay and get a heavy duty 2 stage reg. They are cheap as hell on there.

got a new in box reg set oxy/acetylene on ebay for 85 today actually, made by esab a reputable welding company...

I wouldn't use the medical one. It is probably designed for low pressures. Go on ebay, check out netwelder. They have the harris brand regulator single stage for the same price as the medical one your looking at. Harris brand regs are really good.
