who is on board for the supply of prodo and head pieces for these guys out west? i am thinking about doing work with these guys and seeing as they are new with the distributing of glass art, just wanted some input on what everyone thought thats all....
NO diss, to those guys, just making sure that i am doing the right thing.....:puzzled:

We got a call from these guys as well. I did not like the fact that they wanted my wife to send prodo without paying for it so they could use it to take orders .If you can't afford $100 worth of prodo samples how in the hell are you going to start a bussiness . I just thought it was a little weird.
that also concerns me....i have owned and run 3 stores before and i had lute to start of course......they both seem very nice on the phone and have a good mind set>>>

they asked for samples here too , never did call on sunday .
would good pics not work just as good , since they are doing a catalog of lines for sale ? Although it is nice to see and hold the product you speak for .
These guys seem a little shady to me. I asked them what was up and they sent me a bunch of form emails. Plus the last one I got had a lot of other blowers email addys cc to.
It is common practice for a lot of distros to not pay for samples if all they want is one sample of each pc. Anything over that and they better pay. I guess its up to you if you want to mess with them but I know there are better distros out there.

I did speak to them on the phone, and they were nice, I just wanted some feed back first. I've been bidding my time, plus I just started a glass supply store, and don't want to be spread so thin things start falling down the cracks.
My main concern was I did not know who they were, and did not want to get in trouble for mailing across state lines.

Oh, and I tried to look at there site, but you cant without a tax id # and a member code or somthing like that.
I wouldn't worry about the state lines stuff, distros have been doing it for years.

I used to work with reputable prodo distributors in the past. Never once did they ask for samples to sell a line on without paying for the samples.
I don't know this company but I would be wary of anyone who wants something for free.
Also there have been companies in the past which have taken blowers samples to china to have them reproduced... protect yourself

I wouldn't worry about the state lines stuff, distros have been doing it for years.
I was not worried about it as long as i knew i was sending it to a distributer, not a who knows what or who. Maybe I'm just pariniod, but I wanted to be sure of who was on the receiving end.

Also, you guys gotta start making folks pay for your shit BEFORE you mail it to. The stores are playin poker wit ya, they will pay for it upfront, just dont want to, DEMAND IT an see how paying yer bills on time gets;) pc
thanks for all the input guys. yeah, i used to own 3 stores and i (always) bought all the store inventory with money down, because i only bought what i knew i could sell in my store.......very little consignment!!!!! i guess i dont feel right about this and the $ is not my main concern right now....if i can afford a new custom mirage from gtt i guess i can wait for more real straight up sales.... when you start a business you have to start with LUTE, or your business is going to fail going on hopes......this is not how i feed my daughters!
So are these people trying to get a bunch of glass up front to make a catalog AND THEN HOPING they can sell it at some kind of tradeshow?
You're better off finding an established rep unless of course you're in this to learn one of life's great lessons.

I've sent samples off to chameleon and another that I forget the name of. They boh asked for freebies and I was really green so I figured had to start somewhere. The distrib that I'm working with now paid for their samples and continue to do so with new designs that I bring them.
Sent a note off to these guys last week along with my catalog and they asked for samples. So I told him, just to keep things fair, that to meet him half way, I'd give him half off a sample order. Haven't heard back - no big loss. It's pretty sketchy though when their phone number on their website is all xxx-xxx-xxxx.

I ask cause they called today (didnt get to phone, checked # on here its them) , they also E-mailed . In one thread it appears that Teresa used to work for DA and is just breaking out . Well I was just curious , to see if they may be trust worthy .

She mailed me and I talked to her on the phone on mon, and She seemed very nice when i talked to her and I liked what she was trying to do. When I talked to her on the phone she said they would pay for sample pipes after they got them and we agreed on a price when she looked at them??? So if I send her six pipes that I got like 15 bucks and my time in all together and she rips them off then shit, lesson learned, but what if she orders 100 of each with payment up front before mailing after words, well then I guess the gamble pays off. But I can see how it could be a scam too I duno Got the package sittin on table to mail mon morning, and you all got me all freaked out now. Wouldnt be great if u could just trust people! Lets talk more about this! You all sound like a def no! I was hesitant about this but Sometimes Im a sucka if You get me off my rocker!! been hustled before, live and learn ya know. Should I send it or Not, its only fifteen to twenty bucks and my time. But worked really hard getting a prod line ready so atleast I got that Done, lol sometime when things are sound to good to be true your getting hustled, kinda kept having that thought in back of my head, and why I didnt mail the package fri, like I said i would. I figured better look into ariesglass more
IF I was looking to work for distros I would send it she said she would pay.
If she don't like em you can have her send them back.
I always worried that I would send stuff out then not settle a price and a month later see your line in a catalog.
I had contacted a few and was going to send out samples and thought when was the last time I made a piece that did not sell local.
And that did it for me but if I had backstock or time on my hands I would send them out.
This is just me and you asked to talk some more about it, so I am giving my point of view.
dude its only 15 bucks. send it in and let us all know whether this is a worthy source or not. then you can either rep her and give good feedback or warn others of the scam going on.

lol this made me laugh. But I think I will be the guinea pig for this. Just sending her some of my best pipes yet, but Im a new lil guy and it's the same for her. Its only six spoons so I dont got alot to loose. She emailed me again after I posted last night, Saying she woud mail copy of business license and do anything she could to make me feel better and that she is paying for my glass. Think Im goin to do It, I will let ya know how it works out. I hope it grows to a beautiful business relationship. I really like the fact that she wants to market the glass and artist both!!!

So sent the pipes monday, They recieved them today and She called tonight to work out prices. I think it Ended Up very fair on pricing end. She is mailing a check asap for the sample pack. Ill let ya all know when I recieve it! She has been very professional and extremely nice thus far, and I have no reason to think it will change. Im really happy about the opportunity to get my name and glass out there!

I Did post before saying I would work with this lady. But after she owed me 700 for 4 months before sending me $530 of pipes back with a Letter telling me she no longer wanted to represent my art and still owes me the rest of money. Hung up on me, has avoided calls, non responses to emails, and when I finaly talked to her she said she had been out of country for emergency surgery. hmmmmm............. I wouldnt send her anything ever!!!!! Just a heads up homies! :turtle:

Yep me too. Then when she left her "other" company she was working at she stiffed them with 1500 worth of my glass that they didn't want. Almost got burned but her former employer was good about it and made it right. Gotta wonder how many other people had the same problem.
Did one or two small orders for her as aires but then just got sick of the bs. Wanted stuff even cheaper so she could put 125% on top, rather than 100. Seemed a little HIGH to me. lol...
So I quit responding too. I don't blame you. But she did speak highly of you Turtle.
