Ok so I've been using a hothead and 104.....just got a midrange, regs, hose etc.

my question is for oxygen I'm looking at getting a 60cf but was wondering are scuba tanks the same as regular oxygen (yes laugh now...get it out of your system...lol) but the reason I ask is I've been checking CL and have seen some scuba tanks being sold for less than regular oxygen tanks. I'm thinking they're the same animal...and help is welcomed.

thanks

scuba tanks are used for air and mixtures of gases, not pure oxygen. And get more than a 60 cf tank or you are goin to be making daily trips for fills and giving all your money to the oxy pirates. look for a 240 cf oxygen tank, which is about 5 feet tall. they are pretty easy to find on craigslist etc and even the new ones somewhat affordable.

the answer is, no! and yeah, you dont want a small tank, they charge way too much to fill those.

i think a new tank is about 180.00.

Just getting started, working on a midrange, you would be lucky to finish what you are making before the o2 tank is empty! Get a bigger tank!

ok so i should rent a K tank? how many hours should i expect off of it also since we are talking larger the propane tank I have is a 20 that you exchange how well will that do. I know hrs depend on pressure ect. I'm kind of looking for an average. Also I was thinking the 60 or 80 would be small enough to move around for festival/fair demos...any suggestions? Thanks so far for all the replys.

I use your normal grill propane tank, last me about 4-5 o2 tanks, should be fine with the little propane tank, big o2 tank.

I get around 12 hours out of my o2

I pretty much use all stricking colors, so I'm always ripping a heavy oxy flame.
