i think another option would be how much do you have invested in equipment as well,is your savings/money invested in equipment. just a thought.

i think ideal progression, business/life/career-wise would be to constantly reinvest in business to reach higher profit and ultimately lead to a number of businesses and income sources, in a variety of fields (not just glass) so you can ride out the highs and lows that we are all in store for in the future.

Savings HA! I just let my ventilation system blow on me. Thats my insurance. Insurance that I won't have to worry about that. As I type I am in agony from a bad back. Its PAIN 24/7, but today its completely out. Had a spinal doctor tell me a couple years ago that I could be in a wheelchair if it doesn't get better or if I don't have surgery in 5-10 years. Well, can't afford that, so, I pray god I get beaned by a meteorite or something. I am Jack's aching back.

Riley thanks for your first thought about investing in equipment. I was refering to traditional savings or retirement investments, made with banks and what not. We all abviously invest in our tools and shop.

Chemdog Ha, Ha! this option falls under other. That's why I said people who derive their income from glass blowing.

I think a lot of or industry falls into the "other" catagory.
