...If anyone has called and I haven't called back recently, I am not ignoring anyone...

First, I want to say that I am not looking for sympathy or anything like that. I just want to explain what is going on.

I have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes and am working on trying to get my meds right for this. Due to this, I have been having to take unwanted breaks from the office throughout the day. :twitch:

Please understand that I will get back to the calls as soon as I can, it is just going slower than I would like for it to.

Thanks

Good luck Kristian. Stop eating all processed foods and go all organic, also only raw dairy and grass fed meats. The chemicals in processed foods act as endocrine disruptors and mess up your metabloism. Also processed foods are full of high fructose corn syrup whcich is probably the leading cause of the diabetes epidemic (plus wheat corn and soy fillers =cheap fillers= more profit for factory food makers= diabetes and obeseity.
Another problem is artificial sweetners(an excitotoxin)... if you put something sweet in your mouth your brain thinks mmmm sugar. But then there are no calories involved so your brain thinks wow sugar is free it has no cost. Then you go and eat some high fructose corn syrup and this time your body doesnt know what to do with it because it thought sugar had no cost(calories).

once again good luck my friend and if you need more info I can steer you in the right direction. A good staart would be "master your metabolism" by jillian michaels

KT, as a fellow diabetic I understand what your going through. A small piece of advice from this old hen....get your meds right, adjust your diet and excersise! Follow your program like the Docs say. I was diagnosed with type II over 10 yrs ago and did NOT do as I was told...now I'm on the needle many times a day..you do not want to go there if possible. Take care and best of luck.

hey fired,

i was shooting up 4 times a day for many years. then my dad turned me on to a insulin pump. best thing ever. instead of 4 times a day you go once every three days. you do wear the pump 24 hours but what a difference. i have had both big names in the industry which is minimed and omnipod. i am on the omnipod right now and i think alot better than minimed. if you have any questions or want to talk about them no worries. these have changed my life big time.

Sorry to hear that Kristian. Sounds like there is a lot of help available here. Don't be afraid to ask for it. Diabetes is nothing to mess with.

Thanks everyone!

I switched doctors last week and feel that I have found one that is willing to listen to me and is getting my meds straightened out. I've been working on changing my diet (and thinking about the exercise). I'll be out of the office for most of the day on Thur to meet with a dietitian and exercise coach.

BEst wishes and healing thought dear. There are a few herbs that you can take to help as well. My hunny is type one...when I got him on the herbs he stopped needing to take the fast acting, only has to take the 24 stuff. We have even gone to eat crap food and he stays below 215. Cinnamon (as much as you can take), Gynemea, Bitter Melon. Any health food store will have a bottle of these and more pre-mixed. If you are only type 2, I would get on some herbs right away. There are some that stimulate the pancreas, some that act as natural insulin, some that help your body respond appropriately to the sugars and digest them better.

Getting used to the diet sucks. I eat mostly what he can since we live together. I am learning to make good sugar free sweet stuff. So far the only thing that has really been good is the banana bread...but it rocked...I will bring some for you to AGI.

best way I can figure to help you along is to buy some stuff, so last night I did.

my missus says for her, diet control is half the battle.

LoneWolf, thanks for that info..but I'm typeII and have been under the impression the pumps are for typeI's ??? My location & medical availabilities are more compatible with my current program...I hate everything involved and wished I'd have taken better care of myself years ago, it IS a bitch to get old, that, in and of itself is punishment enough, lol.. At any rate, I hope KT that you get with and stick with a routine that works well and quickly for you.
