o.k. so i finally get to be part of the one and only agi this year. too cool that its the 10 year anniversary as well....
my question to all you who have been and melted in the past there is.
do you guys bring prepped work so it can be worked in collabs or do you tend to do everything on the spot?
glasstree has been super generous to let me play at his torchin station a bit and we are gonna collab on a piece but i wasnt sure if we should just wing it or get the plans in action to have all the various parts there to assemble?
obviously this is not gonna be the same for all but i know some of you have done it enough to know what the most efficient use of time, torch, kiln,etc.....
my thinking is to bring as much varied prep work as i can and when we get there glasstree and i can get to throwing it together. if its not used then i can bring it home ir trade for other prep work.
agi is gonna be here before i know it and i dont want to wake up the morning before i have to leave and go oh shit i was suppossed to get stuff ready for the event.
just curious as to the mindset of others on this one.
also, on the kilns, is it set up where large stuff can be done? or should everything be geared toward smaller work to make sure it fits in the annealer?
side note:
after redoing my big lgw kiln, i am looking into building a nice custom hot box that is geared towards my needs size wise. i have the height with the lgw, now i want some more width. my prototype may be done by agi. if so i will bring it along to get some real world input.
