You've got to be shitting me. $100 for $5 worth of graphite screwed to a 99cent bracket from a hardware store? Fuck me, im dumping my glass in the dumpster tomorrow and going to Home Depot. Imma be rich. Just wait and see how I turn a common plastic doorknob into a $300 shaping tool.

Okay, I thought you were overreacting cause you're pissed with their customer service. Then I opened the link. Seriously, $94.95! Is there something I'm not seeing here? Is part of it plated with gold? Does it at least include the C clamp?

No, actually ABR is generally the first place I looked for the lowest non-sale price. They are undoubtedly competitive with their prices. But seriously, $94? Can't be a typo, its posted at their site and in this thread separately.

less than a buck for a screw, lock washer and washer. around six bucks for the tap and drill to put the hole in.

Don't see any elaborate machining. It would be cool if it had 1/16" steps machined every 1/2". Then maybe I could see it being worth $30-35. As is, I wouldnt want to spend more than $15. Mayyyyybe $20 if I made lots of rings.
