I am not about to put myself up for any position where I might be accused of slander. I just want to make sure NO ONE gets into the severe financial headache that we have had to deal with over the past year.

If you are approached by anyone representing Animazing Gallery in NY please we very aware that they might not have your best interests in mind.

Feel free to email or PM me for FACTS involving the events that ultimately has led to our demise of our current studio operations if you are ever approached by this gallery.

Be warned to be very hesitant of giving your hard work, emotions and money into any project no matter how big the gallery or their how big reputation is, or who they represent.

Our main lesson learned and it was our fault, was to put trust in a supposedly high respected gallery to treat us with respect and integrity. Even though they signed a full contract they completely left us out to dry.

When signing a contract make sure you have YOUR county listed on it so that you have the ability to make a claim in court.

By claim in court I mean in your county. So you don't have to travel to the county that the gallery is in to file suit or breach of contract.

I'm post all the facts of the situation later today. Believe me we are partially at fault for getting shafted and I'll definitely go into detail at what mistakes we made. But I will also go into detail about the questionable practices the gallery did also.

I'll post later today all the FACTS trying to leave my emotions out of it, which is gonna take a lot out of my "delete" key.

If we can help at least one other artist from getting into the nightmare this lesson has caused it will be worth what it cost us in money.

I'll be back later to go further into detail. Again I don't know how Animazing gallery has treated other artists but I DO know how they treated us.

i am really bummed to hear this story unfold. you guys do some great work and for one stupid scenario to foil it all is just about criminal. from what you say about animazing, it may very well be criminal.

really hope you two get reestablished soon and move into bigger and better directions.

good luck with everything you are going through.....

Gonna have to go into all the details tomorrow, (saturday).

School is out and now that I have transformed from glassartist to stay at home Dad my priorities are to head to the beach with my Daughter and build the best damn sand castle we can.

Peace and thanks for all the PM's of concern and help. No worries though.

Lance is gonna keep the studio going and he'll as always do his best to keep up the reputation and quality I believe we represented.

I however will be taking a sabbatical and spending the summer with my daughter and trying to figure out what my next step is.

I will end up on my feet in the future. My outlook is that truthfully change and lessons learned need to be viewed as opportunities and not downfalls. They will all come together to make me a better person, business owner, and a better glassblower. Throwing a pity party and looking at the negatives for myself has been tempting at times but would be completely pointless and it would just keep me from growing spiritually as a human and as an artist in the world of glass.

Off to the beach!!!!!!!!

Peace and much thanks!

sorry to hear that Josh. Don't forget that if you make a million dollars and loose it all, once you know how to play the game you can do it all again, because you've done it all before.

it's just a matter of time but when you do recover you'll be leaner, stronger and more efficient.

Byron, we don't NEED to see it...as long as we KNOW it's gonna happen. :D (judging from the way karma has bit ME personally in the ass for my own stupid moves, it's a sure thing. :twitch:)

Josh and Lance, I'm very sorry to hear this.

I think your idea of posting a non-emotional facts-based account of the experience is great.

I also think taking some time off to consider your next move is wise, and even more wise is your decision to build sandcastles with your little one.

May you both be well,
C

Hey Josh, I live in NYC and would be more than happy to stop by there and see what's up. I'm away right now, but I get back there the end of this month. It's not too far out of my way to work. Let me know if there's anything I can do. I know you lucidvisions guys are good folks, and I hate to see people like that get fucked with. Especially new fathers. PM me if you'd rather do that.

Hey still working on explaining all the details for all ya but it's a looooong story so give me a little bit.

I promise to update this this week with all the details. Maybe I missed some other lessons that I might have missed that you all can point out also.

As far as legal action goes we consulted a lawyer for $250 and we're pretty much screwed unless we want to put a lot of money into it and drag it on for god knows how long. I don't have the time, resources or the energy for it anymore. I wrote her an email back after she denied our claim on one of the $5,000 dollar wholesale pieces she broke by not sending it back to us properly packed and I got out the last of what I needed to. There are just those types of people that have escaped morality and integrity for human beings. Trust me I know my email fell on deaf ears but it was a good release for me and a proper closure. I remained civil and stated the facts. I know that I stand on firm ground and I am very happy and actually proud of myself that I wasn't sucked into her severe negativity and just plain evil and spiteful dialogue. I found it surprising how insane she would get when she was never out a penny in the whole fiasco. There's no way I would sink to her level, but trust me, for some reason it was very tempting.

Thanks for the support from the NY guys but I want my Karma to stay intact. No reason to pay her a visit for me. All of my responses to the gallery have always been void of any spiteful negativity. I can't say the same for her's. But again that's HER karma not mine. She'll get her due in this life time or another. I'm not devoting any more time to getting sucked in by her or her gallery. Again another lesson learned. I wish these lessons didn't cost so much but I know how much I've learned and grown through this whole experience and it will pay off someday.

On a side note. My daughter and I had our first art lesson today on color shading three dimensional objects and she drew for two hours straight. If all of the above didn't happen either would have that art lesson. See, it's already paying me and my daughter back in positive energy.

Peace

Josh

Congrats on keeping your cool man. That is much harder that fighting this out.

But it never hurts if a brick was to accidentally go through the gallery window ya know. lol

I wish someone would have thrown a brick through it while our work was on display, we might have gotten paid for it, lol.

No brick throwing though....Okay?
