So hot in good ol' Delaware.
Shop temp was 109.5F when I came in to take a little soda pop and granola bar break.
Just wanted to share.

Seriously dude. This shit is weak sauce.
I hate my kiln on days like this....

luckily I've been making succesful saving throws versus "loss of motivation" all day.
hopefully I can make my save vs "air conditioned house" and get back to work

Good luck. I think my saving throw versus resisting AC is like 2%. Add on the condition modifier of a ridiculously hot studio and we are getting into negative territory....

solution: AC in the shop.
Humid locales, don't even apply.

rockstar I can feel your pain. It make working with fire so very difficult. G-matter I have an air conditioner under my bench blowing right on my legs and up my front. Having an air conditioner does not solve the heat problem, it only makes working in that heat somewhat more bearable. Now in the spring an fall having an air conditioner in the shop is da Bomb.
When I was younger living in ATL I would sleep all day and lamp all night. It was tough cause the world really does revolve around 9-5. It was hard to get my business side of things accomplished. But it was much more better blowing glass during the less hot, city nights.
G-matter are Y'all rockin the swamp coolers out there in the desert heat???

You know they are loving those swamp coolers out there. With little humidity in the air I bet they can get it from 95 or more to 75 or less!
Too bad the dirty south is like a humidity dome :depressed: lol
Another thread spoke of a radiator in the wall, with ice water circulating through it, and the make-up air running across it. I'm going to look into it and see if maybe a chest freezer with some coiled piping inside will be enough to chill the water before it returns to the radiator. I'm sure I can find a pump, radiator and freezer for next to nothing to try it out if I can't find much information.
I can't stand constantly being a night owl, either...

Yeah night time temps are hovering around low 70's .............. Really F's my schedule up but makes the deep south's heat and humidity somewhat bearable.
BRR your electrical consumption vs cooling effect is going to be a bad trade......
Every time you transfer heat you loose in the exchange process, try directly cooling the air or make you a red neck cool suit as discussed in other threads.......

it's been in the 90's here, some days hitting the 100's. :tantrum:
we're going to hit 95 here for the first time today, guh.
Its was only 90 in chi town and that is too hot for me. Working at night is the way to go.

We tied a record high yesterday of 101 F , today on the drive to work passed an outdoor electronic sign that was in the sun and had a temp display of 111 F. Currently 97 F and feels like we are in the kiln ..................

Yeah, I have stayed indoors for 2 days because it has been so hot. So hot it gets downright depressing. I was able to work tonight though, storms came through and took the temp down to like 70. Now that I can work with!!

I try to do all my prep work on hot days so I don't Need to turn on the kiln. Sometime I forget and make a pipe then I'm drenching my shirt with sweat. Cold Green Monster drinkz and hopefully a breeze. The thing I hate the most is when sweat drips into my glasses and I can't see crap. I getting out there today one way or another. Sometime I swear the table just shifted on me.
