View Full Version : Ti sigs?
i'm afraid to say that i absolutely suck at signing my pieces with the Ti. it may be partly because my work is small and somewhat difficult to hold while i sign but i know it can be done well because i see so many great looking sigs in all sizes. anybody got any tips tricks or cheats?
I use a Ti Scribe (http://www.playingwithfireglassworks.com/store.html) makes a mark with a lot less pressure than the other ti pens out there. O and lots of saliva. If it is really small you can use some dop wax to secure it to a hard surface so you don't have to focus so much on holding it.

learned this one from moch - round the fuck outta your TI pen till its dull like a ballpoint pen...
it will now write smooth like a....
ballpoint pen :D

use your ring finger to stabilize the tip of the ti pen w/ the surface you're trying to sign on. just hold the pen like a regular pen with your thumb and first two fingers, then throw the tip of your ring finger down there for the pen to rest on....
The added resistance gives you a lot more control...
also wet the surface you're signing with a lil spit

here's the original ti-pen, made by one of our forum members. I'd say go with his, it's the best I've used by far, and well...he made it for us. :blowkiss:

What I see is a lot of people try too hard. Round out the tip (new ones seem to come pre-rounded?). use some spit or water, and don't press so hard. Done right you shouldn't have to press any harder than a regular pen or pencil to get a good line.

so this isnt exactly what this thread is for but i couldnt really find it anywhere else... any recs on signing a torch? ive used a corner of a ti pad before lol but figured if anyone had any more legit options haha def dont want my sig on my mirage to look as half assed as on my phantom:)
Sign it with a UV pen. Then it can only be seen under a uv light.

I took my Mirage off of the stand and used a dremel to make a deep mark,on the under side by the tab. Then used my pen to make some smaller inconspicuous marks on other areas.

^repworthy for sure.
do to your torch what the police are starting to do to protesters. mark them for further penalization. :( 1984

I don't think pepper spraying his torch will help

i didn't say "continuing" i said "starting" ! they are beginning to UV mark people so they cannot return to places they are arrested. freedom of speech is suffering under corporate pressure, under homeland "security", under mayors and politicians who are paid puppets for the powers that be.
also you can try signing it under running water or in a bowl.. that helps me for signing on a weird plane..

Lick and sign. I rarely have things too small to get a signature on...

I suddenly picture you with a big magnifying visor trying to sign your ants :)

I have a similar image, but it's of him trying to get his tongue into the place he wants to put his signature.

Oh. My.
Hello, here is a glass case i made for my ti-pen. :bouncy:
I like them allot and sign them buble letters like graffittii but my name is also 3 letters so it easy and I have been spelling it since i was a little one, so i got lotsa practice.
I mainly wanted to show the TI pen because its a ti thread but
Also seen in this picture is some Jars i made in the furnace last week, some turkish eye bead attempts and my first big turtle jar. that one jar is real bigand thick and has dichro and adventurine

*sigh* ... yet another aspect of glass I have no hope of mastering until I've put in years and years of practice. My name is 6 letters ... twice as much work remembering all the letters and such. Any tips?

Sign them while you're using the toilet so you can easily check the tag in your underwear? :)

Use a dabber, it's titanium, it's small, and it's got two very rounded ends....ready to go.

Maybe take a few less hits on the days you need to remember all of the letters in your name?

I ABSOLUTELY recommend the Ti-Scribe that Playing With Fire sells - I use it and it's WONDERFUL!!!!!
