To whatever cat\group that had the idea to give beads to kids... they have a set amount of time to accomplish their goal, or pepsi's legal dept is gonna go apeshit....

So...B of C didn't make it into the top ten in July...but at this very moment, Beads of Courage is #1!!! Overview

Through the Beads of Courage Program children coping with life threatening conditions received colorful beads each which symbolize the many treatments and procedures they overcome. Their Beads of Courage collection serves as a tangible, visible symbol of their accomplishments during a challenging treatment journey. Funding provided by Pepsi will help us provide the Beads of Courage Program as a source of support for children in 10 children's hospitals wishing to provide the Program as a source of psychosocial support. The Beads of Courage Program strengthens resilience and quality of life for children coping with cancer and other serious illness.

Deliverables:

* Establish the Beads of Courage Program in 10 children's hospitals
* Support 10,000 children coping with cancer and life threatening blood conditions
* Refresh the bedside, clinical care of children through the Beads of Courage Program in 10 children's hospitals
* Secure 10 press releases

How will the 25K be Used?
$ 3,000 travel to train clinicians who provide the Beads of Courage Program
$ 2,000 membership cards for children and posters for hospitals
$ 20,000 Beads for Beads of Courage Program for 10 children's hospitals
Budget Notes: The stipend for our Program Director is covered by fundraising efforts. String used in the program will be donated by a supplier.

OK so Beads of Courage got the 25K grant and was invited to compete for an additional 20K. It would be nice to add win this too so please consider voting for them. I'm re-posting from Lampwork Etc. I hope no-one minds.

BOC was in the lead all last month for the initial grant but we're behind on this one so please vote daily (from as many computers or mobile devices as you can) and spread the word.
