Bitch Window?

I'm currently putting "bitch" windows at the end (or at the end of the bowl) of pipes. Now, when I pop the bowl hole and press it the hole seems to always be off center. What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

Try heating the spot where you want your hole straight on with a tiny flame and blow that out to a small bump. Then heat the tip of you bump from the side and blow to pop the hole... It should end up right where you want it. If the problem arises while pushing, try using a push with a tungsten tip. The tip goes in your hole and makes it much easier to keep centered.

Is this a problem only when adding the window? It maybe uneven glass thicknss.

it sounds like the bitch window is thicker than the rest of the glass,

try blowing the bubble at the end of your tube section out and condense a few times to even up the wall thickness. then pop your hole and push.

you may just need to heat the side of the hole with the window more than the other side. try pushing the hole in steps:

heat a little, then push
heat a bit more, and push some more

i find that this helps push a really nice hole when the stiffness of the glass is an issue.
