Just saw this on youtube, and i'm new to working with tubing and cutting it sucks. I've heard the tech's available on here, this one is interesting too cuss i never woulda thought of it. gets more interesting about half way through. He just uses boiling watter and then cold water to cause the shock.

So, with Borosilicate the chances of thermal shock are decreased, do you think it'll work?

In the video, he's cutting various types of soda-lime glass, which is a softer glass and more susceptible to thermal shock.

Be sure to post your results.

I just score all the way around a tube, heat a solid rod of 16mm till it's molten. Then I quickly put spit in the score and press my wet hot rod (dirty!) into the score (also dirty!).

Perfect break everytime.
