Mine is my mom.

No matter what my glass looks like she always loves it. The problem is that she always takes all the good stuff for herself. I don't mind because it's my mom and she's done a hell of a lot more than any glass I can make.

My mother-in-law. Helps that almost anything I make on her torch (she's a bead lady) gets left there...

I have never saved a piece for myself that wasn't too flawed to sell. Maybe someday I will make something sweet for myself. My parents have a huge collection of bought and gifted art glass from me .. They had to buy a special lighted 6' display shelf unit to show it all off. Lol

Mama Icarus has all of my best stuff. The nice part is going over every once in a while and seeing something I gave her a while back and being like "Whoa, I made some stuff like that back (insert general time item was made)? I guess I wasn't as terrible at this as I thought I was." Granted, she gets all my best work for the pretty much the same reason Mer stated.

i have a collector in scarsdale newyork that has over 50 of my best pieces in his 4 houses throughout the country.
on top of that he usually buys 35-50 small pieces each year as x-mas gifts for his employees. (reminds me i need to get another order put toghether for this year)

i am forever in his debt as he has kept my business going when others where not buying.

he is the son of a very prominant art collector and while his father is mostly a glass collector, the son is a giant fan of wood as well.

i am always humbled to see the work that my pieces are accompanied next too.
jon kuhn, dale chihully, dan daily, richard jolley just to name a few of the artist that the luski family collects extensively.

i would estimate the luski family art collection is worth upwards of 10 million in all the houses they have, not to mention all the private donations they make to major museums.

not bad for a family that came over from cuba on a raft 45 years ago.

now they are real estate tycoons and even in this economy he is one of the few collectors i have that is still actively purchasing very large scale works.

i am just now introducing him to the world of lampworking and he has been very intrigued so far.

we need more of these guys. they truly make the world go round.

gotta go get my stuff together for agi. big list , short time frame.

later all,

After mnost everyone saying that their biggest fan is their mom, I'm still having a hard time believing that no one has said their biggest fan is "your mom".

Low hanging fruit people, low hanging fruit.

My Mother and her friends. A lot of my glass and non-glass friends love my work, too.

later all,

My Mother ex-patted to Mexico and one thing I've noticed is that there are a lot of wealthy Cuban art collectors. And some canvas/oil artists that blow my mind.
