Been workin the torch heavily on and off from 3 in the afternoon yesterday till 8 this mornin.... around 5 in the morn I decided to stop doin' prodo and make 1 more piece for the pipe exchange (I'm a week late, and had already made 1 lil' sickie, but i wanted it to be well worth the wait.) After a damn fine safety break, I got this magical idea into my head on what to make... I slowly watched the nicest thing i've ever imagined i could craft come into fruition... after a weld, I kilned the piece to garage it back to working temps. In about a minute or two I heard a LOUD CRACK.... Thought about opening the kiln, but didn't, and after about 10 - 15 seconds I heard another heartshattering crack. I waited the whole 10 minutes I was gonna give it to get up to temp, and opened the kiln. MY BRIDGE HAD CRACKED OFF PERFECTLY. The piece was immaculate. I had saved the time I would have spent removing the bridge. I assume the glass gods were smiling on me on account of all that fucking prodo, but wow. A bit later I put the piece in the kiln after taking it off the blowtube (after everything else) and raised both arms and gave a loud "woohoo", celebrating my greatest victory in solitude, before feeling the need to come here and share. What a rush. I was pouring my soul into that lump of boro, and I have already received my reward. I can't wait to get a review from Jplank(<-my recipient). It's slightly above my skill level (I just set the bar for myself :D).
