ok, so here it is... long story (kinda) short i was polyamorous, i was and still am madly in love with a woman nearly twice as old as myself and who is married, i lived with my g.f and her husband under the same roof, happily, for over a year and we were together for over 2 years. until they recently moved from small town Nebraska to northern Cali... and i wasn't invited to go...
They left me to take care of the house they own here in Nebraska along with the pets and everything that entails... but in the 12 hours previous to me posting this, i heard they may be selling the house out from under me in anywhere from a month up to over a year... im not looking for sympathy, but i need help, i really need the help... basically im looking for a teacher, i have a bethleham barracuda, a fair amount of tools, a little glass a few other things like tanks and such, but most importantly the drive and ambition to make this work, i just don't have the ability to teach myself, but soon i think ill more than likely be homeless in a matter of months...
im willing to do what ever it takes. im willing to move, do, work, whatever it may be... i just need the opportunity and the guidance, and really if i had any other options iv thought of them, but i believe this is the best route, i love glass. my eyes light up and i smile when i think or talk about it, i really do have the drive and passion to make something of myself in this world, i just don't have the knowledge at this time. and to be honest, im scared and just need help...
i really do worry that if i cant at least find a teacher in the near future i may end up going the way of so many other up and coming artist, and end up being forced into the normal working society and losing my chance to do something that i love and im just not willing to lie down in the streets and get run over(metaphorically speaking of course, im lost, confused and scared not suicidal).
Any help will be deeply appreciated on my part, the glass community really is one of my last resorts for the help im in need of, im really not a big fan of having to leave my home or what family iv still got left, but again, im willing to do almost anything to make this work for me...
i can be reached more easily via my personal email address "dsiebrass333@gmail.com"

Wish I could offer more than just a 'good luck'. I'm sure you'll find the right direction. Have you tried the people connection sub-forum? You can put a shout out in there for people in your area.

And contrary to belief, you can teach yourself. Many here are self taught, including myself. It just takes time and practice. Search around here and you'll find pretty much anything you need.

Good luck.

Hmm maybe you shoulda saved some of the money you woulda been payin in rent over the last year.
This path working towards 'greatness' is attempted by many and believe when I say many a great artist has eaten others left over food,, slept in shacks and STRUGGLED, Thats whats helped make them great.
Mslinger I believe spent more than a few years sofa surfing because he couldn't afford rent.
The rest of us do not live in Ivory glassblowing castles, We ALL scrimp and save & work hard with Dedication to our craft!
Fuck I'd be blown away by the oppertunity to go work in a prodo factory.
How have you managed to learn what you know without a teacher? Im self taught no choice where I live, make mistakes and learn from them.
Geta job get out of the house of polyamorousness and learn to stand on your 2 feet and not be breastfed your life.
Is that too harsh? maybe so but life is harsh and it sounds like you need a kick inthe ass.
