Hey mods,
I was wondering if we can get tapatalk enabled for the forum.
It's just a much easier, quicker way to access the site from Android and iphone.
If not, that's cool too.
Thanks!
Here's their website. www.tapatalk.com
^$999 for the license that would prevent them advertising EVERYWHERE....
Seems $$$$$$$. Money would be better spent doing other forum upgrades, IMHO, like skins for those who dislike the blue/white(I LOVE IT), etc.

Holy shit, nevermind. I was posting from my Android and it's kind of a pain going between sites. I didn't see that.
I agree, I think there are better things to upgrade. I actually thought Tapatalk was free to forums. Guess not. Oh well.

I think vb4 has more 3g options, but we need the money to buy the upgrade still so might be awhile.

That's cool Misha. I'd be more than happy to donate a bit to the cause. I'll PM you when I can if you want.

i know that this is an old thread but i was also interested in possibly having this plugin setup for the forum..
It is free as a plugin for v-bulletin, the licensing fee is if you want a completely custom version tailored to your very specific needs.
i'd still be doing my most of my talkglass browsing from the computer, but there's so many times i just want to pull something up real quick to show someone.

Didn't catch this post back in august. I realize the $999 is expensive, but I love this idea... Kinda broke but definitely willing to donate glass to the cause...
That is if somebody besides me takes the initiative. Tragically, I have a realy bad case of what my doctor calls laziness.

ya this looks free now unless you want customization, it'd be sweet to have a nice interface like this on mobile, I'd definitely use the forum more that way, now i don't do much with it unless I'm on a computer. It's not bad right now on mobile, but having a client will just make for a better user experience, in my opinion.
either way, this forum rocks!

VBulletin 4 has a mobile theme which is pretty nice.
They're not quite done with it, though - there's a test version in the current newest VBulletin, which we're currently working with, but apparently the mobile theme won't be done until the next version, 4.1.6. So we may not have a mobile theme at the time of the upgrade, depending when that is - but definitely will have one by the end of the year.
tapatalk looks interesting, I think it's worth checking out. It appears that the $999 fee is only if you want to use their technology in your own app, otherwise it's free for forum owners and people using it just have to buy the $2.99 app.
VBulletin also has an official app, which could be used to access this forum if we set it up and paid the yearly fee.
More than a few people have mentioned that mobile access is important, so we're definitely looking at the best way to get it going.

I just wanna be able to upload photos from my iPhone! I'm a mobile user pretty much exclusively and the site works fine on iPhone except no photo uploading.. I've had to give up posting pics here and just post them on facebook.. =(

No doubt, Tree! Unfortunately, due to limitations Apple has set up, Mobile Safari can't upload files at all, so the only way to upload from an iPhone is either by email or through an app. We'd have to use something like the Tapatalk app or VBulletin's app to make iOS photos work.
It's possible to use an intermediary app like http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/imguruploader/id444074667?mt=8, though it's probably not the most convenient. We'll see what we can do.

I know im new here but I would love to see a meltingpot app so its easy to access the forums on the go!! If theres a fundraiser I would def donate to that!!
I just had an idea for raising money. It would be great to start a "meltingpot" etsy!!! If everyone donated a nice marble/pendant/sculpture that would be a great way to raise money. And it could also be constantly active. And people who donate could be rewarded with those cool lil badges under they're name.
Just an idea!!

Photobucket app. Works wonderfully :) I upload photos all the time to the forum from my iPhone.

You can embed photos in a post after uploading to either Photobucket or Imgur. Once you have the direct link to the image, click the button that looks like a mountain here in the post form and paste in the link.
I know what you mean BrassMonkey, I saw a Tapatalk pop up recently on my phone when entering a forum. We'd definitely disable anything like that.

Glad you mention that, eyeseeglass.... :D
Our queen bee and head Admin, PyroChixRock, has already started a thread pertaining to that.
check it out here (http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40264), and remember donating gets you a niftly flame badge that shows your community support.

The mobile skin for vBulletin 4 is almost done.
it runs jQuery mobile, which is a great mobile platform... they just need to finish some of the stuff and i think we'll be up and running with that in the next few months. maybe not the color scheme we've all grown to love (hate in some cases) but all your forum goodness will be there.
everybody cross your fingers it'll come soon.
