Hey been making some things with lots of frit. So I'm wondering who makes the best black frit in a small size? I need something somewhat dense that stays black Under heavy oxy flames and can hold well against the occasional reducing flame. I know raven and onyx won't work for my needs. Any suggestions?

Have you tried Jet Black? That is my favorite Black so far.

Jet black is nice but turns gray if reduced. If you aren't going to be reducing it a ton I would say go with jet black, otherwise I would say Black violet by Glass Alchemy.

closest I've used is Black lightining and Alaskan Thunder, not exactly black, black with silver properties, but, nonetheless, DON'T use them on the inside whatever you do. Cracked EVERY time.

I am interested however in some reviews of Jet Black used on the inside and deep encasement. Anyone tried?

I have used it inside 2" marbles without problems. I haven't used it in any tubing though, hopefully someone who has will chime in.
I have used Jet black rod on inside out without any problems and I know a lot of people use it in vac-stacks without problems as well.

I'll second the cracking problem with black lightening...even though it is not black and you wouldn't be using it anyway.

I use Jet Black stringers all the time with my inside out prodo with excellent results.

Jet black has worked inside for me. I've also used it only a few times but the times I have it did not crack.

Never used black lightening but alaskan thunder is certainly not what I would consider black. I've used alaskan thunder plenty of times I/O without any cracking

If your looking for a black frit, go with jet black.

I like the blue lighting, but not black enough, more blue moonish. I'm a fan of onyx for years, have some midnight, but never use it, onyxor a comparable color of GA. I just tried jet black Kristen gave me a rod of at AGI, it worked just as good. Raven always gave me a headache as far as results go with it.
