Anyone here ever take any flame-working classes at the Corning Museum of Glass? How was the experience? Did you get your money's worth, education wise? I'm thinking of signing up for a couple of weekend classes and would like to know if it's a good idea. For the one class the instructor is Jim Byrnes, is this name familiar to anyone here?

could you make these? do you want to? if you answered no then yes, then i would say take the class.

i've never taken a class there but my buddy took a class with emilio santini at the CMOG and he said it was worth every penny. i've been in the studios though and they're really nice, so i say go for it.

dew,
Thanks for the reply, that's what I was hoping to hear. Although, I suppose that the student is a bigger factor than the teacher. :)

took a week long at CMoG... was worth every bit of it just to meet/hang out with other artists my skill level.

if you can afford it, i'd do it.

Andrew,
Thanks man, right now my skill level is about 0.2 :) , so anything would be a big improvement. I'm looking to take a couple of weekend classes, CMoG is about 1.5 hours from my house.

I can definitely recommend CMOG, especially if you're so close! I took a two week class there, and their studios are impeccable. I would go for it, I don't think you'll regret it.

Thanks all for the feedback. I've signed up for 2 weekend classes, I was going to sign up for Loren Stump's 1 week class in January but the registrar recommended I a little more experience first. Again thanks!
