Hey guys,
Just introducing my self.
I am a long time lurker here, I know most of you from your posts. ( or lets just say I know you from the content you posted, you all could be Ax murders for all I know)
I like/love glass. it a great medium. always in motion even when cool. look at old glass windows and it will remind you of that.
Father of 2.5 ( one due in Nov) Originally from Philly now living in Spokane.
I am going to turn 40 in Jan and for the first time in my life I know what I want to do.
Glass.
Back in the day i used to live way way in the woods, there were a few good glassblowers in my area.
You know secret squirrel type of stuff. The "Id tell ya but then I'd have to kill ya" stuff. I had no in's to the glass world....
Time passed , I got into a bit o trouble , went away on a forced vacation. traveled around a bit changed a few jobs and.....
I am back to where i was. but NOW I know what i want to do for fun.
I want to create stuff. Make shit .
That is where glass comes in.
So I found a small torch. still need all the rest. Just scraped up a few bucks for a few lessons. Im going to go go slow. learn the basics of glass. Right now I dont really care if I make pipes or marbles or.... i just want to see stuff melt.
I wanted to thank EVERYONE that contributs to this place on a regular basis.
Bringing to light the info of glass.
I also want to let folks know that if they need help with web site stuff e-stores and the like, I can help out.
I work as a project manager of and e-store site. we run about 750 internet store ( All of it apparel) I also run a few high end sites that sell Shoji Screens and hardwood lighting. I have been a computer geek forever but now I am trying to get back to the woods. ( not as easy with 2.5 kids)
I have been amazed that a lot of the "stores" on the internet for glass, glass tools and materials are just plane bad or incomplete .
Id kill to make a website for GTT ( I know they have a new one in the works, missed the boat on that one)
So anywhoo thanks for the knowledge and the inspiration, some times get on here and my patience grows thin wanting to get to playing with glass.
If you have any questions about web/ internet marketing or just computer stuff my doors is open.
James
