My guess would be to slump a long strip In a kiln over a curved object. Then use it in the stack.

I just posted a bubbler I made that has dichro in the vac-stack Right Here (http://www.talkglass.com/forum/showpost.php?p=539940&postcount=66), its my new favorite thing. I use really thin strips and put them next to each other, they'll suck together and sometimes you can't even tell where they connect to each other.

Really nice, blue lilly.
I gotta step up my game and put dichro in my stacks.

Anyone wanna share their tech?

i've done 3 or 4 dicro vac stacks over the past couple of weeks..

i use jet black tubing..like 25 mil.ish inside of 50hvy.. then fill the gap with thin dicro strips i think my strips are 1/16 thick and about 1/4 inch wide.. the trick is to get all to fit kinda tight so the strips stay where u want them and don't overlap each other and leave space with no dicro..
it is a pain in the ass to get it to fit perfectly.. if you have a bunch of gaps in the stack u can fill them with some 3mil clear..just try not to put too much clear on one side or ur stack will not be consistent.. i hope that makes sense..
i currently dont have any but next time i would like to try it with something smaller than 50mil or maybe with bigger diameter jet black just so there is less of a gap to have to fill up with dicro/3mil..
i will post some pics in a few.. i came up with this tech on my own (not sayin it hasn't been done before) so i would love to hear any other ideas..

oh yeah..props to whoever did the first vac-stack.. it changed the way i look at glass..

I use almost every color company, but I do prefer the shape and regular length of Glass Alchemy rods. That bubbler for instance has mostly glass alchemy red orange yellow green and blue, but there is also some trautman and NorthStar in there too. I just use whatever looks good when I pick it up at the store.

So i know this thread is kinda old and this info may be old news, but when cutting your dichro strips a good way to do it is to lay your sheet of dichro on top of some regular old lined paper and cut along the lines. I just took a Eush class and thats how he was doing it. Also this is probly old news for sure, but if youre cutting off of a whole sheet cut with the tabs on the edge, he explained why but its a lot to write on my phone. Cut tab to tab.. And when you lay the dichro srips in your clear, dont just pick up a random strip and toss it in, lay them in order the way they were cut so that they fit back together as snug as possible..
