Hi folks. As promised, we are creating a non profit organization so Elaine and I can leave our entire estate to all of you when we’re gone. We were advised to start a regular not for profit corp. in which we will transfer our assets, and then apply for 501(c) 3 status with the IRS… That will be the one in which the board of directors will be in charge.

That being said, I am going to the attorney on Wed. to finalize step 1, and I need a name for the corporation. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Tom

Put "Trust" at the end of that and you will have the acronym "G.I.F.T."

Anything with "Wonka" in the title could at some point bring lawyers out of the woodwork...

I really can't come up with a name that I feel would suit the likes of such an even. About the closest I can think of is: Our Glass Trust or something like that.

I have never been to AGI and I really hope to get to go one day, but it will not be this year. The festival sounds wonderful.

Perhaps 'Art Glass Trust' or 'Art Glass Group' to strengthen the link with AGI.

Thanks everybody, there are some great ideas here. I’ll run it by Elaine and make a decision tonight, but I can’t do it until after 10pm, because Elaine is hooked on, “Dancing with the Stars”, which is on right now.

Personally, I’d rather shave my head with a cheese grater… while chewing on tin foil… than watch that show, and it's a good thing I have some beers in the fridge and other buildings I can retreat to!

I’ll let you know later or tomorrow after the meeting.

Thanks again!!!

Hi folks.

I met with my attorney this afternoon, and the paperwork will be submitted within the next week or so. Part of the non profit corporation process requires us to advertise it in the “legal notice” section of the local newspaper which we will be doing in the next few days, and then submitting the paperwork to the PA Dept. of State.

I would like to reveal our decision on the name, but I was advised by my attorney not to do so until we register the domain name and submit the notarized forms.

Thanks to all of you who gave us ideas, and I’ll go through this thread and rep everyone. To those of you that sent me e-mails, please post here and say something so I can rep you as well.

I’ll keep you posted!!!

Steve-

Dreams change according to circumstances, life experiences, and many other factors. If you asked me 10 or 15 years ago, “what are your dreams?” I probably would have answered; blow glass, have fun, and make money (in that order).

Since then Elaine and I have found a direction, which is helping others in any way that we can by leaving some kind of legacy behind for the greater good of the glass community… it’s our new goal / mission in life.

We are now exploring the opportunity of expanding “Wonka World” even further by purchasing the house and property next door which will be going up for sale shortly. Now we just have to figure out how we can come up with about $40,000.00 to make it happen.

Stay tuned for details…..

I thought the place next door was bought by Berry and GA? Lets rally together to make this happen, $40,000 is not much and we all could be a part of helping making this happen. I have some ideas that we could come up with this kinda cash in a month as long as we have help by the community. Lets talk Tom
