Does anyone have a link or more info on alien technology tubing? How its made or where to get it? I'm under the impression like all good new things it's still tightly under wraps at this point.

Its made by northstar and you cant get it anywhere cuz its so hot that its gone before it even arrives.

I think alot of people are waiting on the next batch to come through.

You can buy it at ABR, Cornerstone and winship/glasscraft. The stuff I picked up at cornerstone had no clear layer the stuff ABR has does have a clearcoat. It is Lokis lipstick over unobtanium.

It is unobtainuim tubing hand pulled then dipped agian with lokis lipstick.and repulled.Sometimes there is a clear coating on it to keep the loki's from over reducing.

The clear doesn't affect the Loki's kiln striking, does it? Shit, flame striking, too.

How did you like the stuff I sent you with no clear?

Yup, ours has clear over it. But we are almost out of that. Though, we have more of the clear coated, and about 15 lbs of the non clear coated AT on the way. Should be end of this week, or early next.

I'm gonna have some special batches of this stuff with different colors over the unobtanium at the GlassRoots Show in Madison in a couple weeks. Show specials abound! Hope you all make it. I'll post any leftovers for those who can't be there.

The clear does not effect the loki it makes it look better, I think. It is one of the most baller colors we have seen.
We dont use a torch EVER when we make our color tubing so the color is never effected by flame chemistry, this alaso keeps the lokis from striking.

Haven't used it yet. It's been calling to me, though. I really want to make sure I'm back to 100% before I use it.

Yeah, I know you guys pull from pots. I was just curious, sometimes I have a hard time striking DAP under clear.

cant ya just kiln strike it at like 1100-1150 for a bit? shouldnt matter if clears on it should it?

Yes because the clear gives it a different look. We use Simax clear ONLY for the clear coat, the Simax is the BEST CLEAR FOR THE SILVER COLORS. You guys are my eyes and ears so let me know what is best, I am just a lamper from way back.LOL

just grabbed some with the clear coat at Cstone... Went in the back and did a honey comb. Just some weird gray scuzz under some of the dots... Is that from the bubble being too cold when I lay the dots or....? I am using simax clear rod for the dots. Any advice Abe? Oh and thanks for the dope tube!!

Yeah, the gray scuzz is definitely from laying the dots onto cool glass. I have the same problem every now and then. There was a post by The Lorax about it a long time ago and the temp difference was the cause of the "ghosts".

That is what I figured. I blew it out reallllly thin and was trying not to distort when I dotted it. I threw half a tube in the kiln to just soak for a while and worled it right before I shut down... Much nicer. Buck said I should let it sit in the kiln for a few cycles befor working it to get the best results. I will be leaving about half the tube in there to see what happens.... Oh, I looked through every single rod that was there and found only one that had the double dip bullseye. I am thinking I will do some stick and snaps like as if it was a millie on the piece I am working on..
Thanks Abe!!
