So this year, instead of just donating supplies to schools, Delphi is doing something more. We are supporting a non-profit organization called Beads of Courage. They are a new arts-in-medicine program that serves seriously ill children. The idea is each time a milestone in their treatment is reached, the child gets a bead as a symbol of their courage. Lampworked beads are given for exceptional acts of courage. The program is in over 60 hospitals now, so they are in need of a lot of lampworked beads.
Delphi has pledge to raise 100,000 beads over the next year. Anyone who donates between now and October 2011 will get a coupon to our store, as well as the good feeling that comes from helping kids. Learn more at www.delphiglass.com/beadsofcourage
Beads of Courage also has its own website at www.beadsofcourage.org. They have lots of programs in need of support of lampworkers including a commission program for professional bead makers.
