So I just got a lap wheel and have been playing around. I have found it: very fun, kind of a learning curve, and kinda expensive. I learned the hard way to be very careful with especially the first grinding steps.. as one wrong grind not on level can wreck a whole piece. Also .. watching a piece slip out of your hands and grind marks on a finished surface of a piece as it spins on the wheel is not cool.
But, a lot of fun. The pendants look very cool in person, hard to get it from a picture. I would recommend getting a lap wheel if you have the funds and are interested in it... the time investment on each piece is not too bad for the coldworking part. The $71 diamond wheels kinda suck.
