So late last night I wanted to make some of my own alien tec tubing. I take 8" rods get everything stacked perfect. but only had some thin wall that would fit over it (and my good friend sent me a bunch of bowtubes and other size tubes, but didnt relise some was quartz) Well sealing it all together ang getting the air out was no problem. I worked the whole piece and tried to pull it down (but had some issues) So I blew it out more (thinking the glass was too thick) still couldnt pull down much. So I figured I kiln it till today as it was puhing 3am. So I open it this morning and it was in 1000 pieces the very few pieces where the quartz didnt whiten looked just like alien tec, but All that color and time for nothing. Im going throough today and making sure that ALL the quartz is put away. I was so pissed (as I thought I had pulled all the quartz out. just felt like venting Sorry to ramble, I was just so excited to have it to play with today.
