i was just wondering the same thing last night. mine doesn't make as much sense without a tiny bit o somethin else.

the first entry on the website has a metal stand.

so are things like metal stands , jewelry findings , corks and such acceptable. i'm hoping so , otherwise i'll need to rethink everything .

and thanks in advance to flamtree and gtt for makin this happen:blowkiss:

Hi Berning Glass,
The piece can be made with multiple pieces of glass separated by findings, or brought together by wire, etc., just as long as the main component pieces you are using are flameworked. Corks are fine too.
OK!?, Go for it man, have fun, and good luck!!!
Remember, once you submit your piece, the judging is done by your friends, peers, etc. by online voting poll. So get everyone you know to go and vote for you online!
Take care, Rock on!!!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year 2011!!!

Hi Alien,
Sorry I missed your post for some reason. Yes, just like I said, some mixed media is fine as long as your main component pieces are falmeworked. OK?
As you say, Tiny bit of something is fine!
Go for it!!!
Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!!!
Good Luck!!!
Thanks,
Peace out,

Just remember when you enter you MUST tell everyone ... email, spam, do what you gotta to get the word out to get votes .... the competitions are not skilled rated or anything else ... it's only on how many votes can you get for your entry. IF you have a gazzilion friends your in ... if not , your phucked 8) Just an FYI, it's all on votes! Can't wait to see your Slick!

I'm just hoping they throw all the non winners in a hat again. I'm blaming my loss in previous entries on crappy photography skills and not going big enough....but this time....!!!

Hi to all,
Merry Christmas, and thanks for your entries in the FlameTree Glass Christmas Contest 2010 sponsored by Glass Torch Technologies!!!

Good Luck to All!!!
Judging IS online voting poll; so tell all your friends/elves, Santa's helpers, etc. to go online and vote for you!!!
We have had FlameTree Halloween Flameworking Contests in the past where the winners were chosen by a panel of judges; some people loved it, some people disagreed with our panel of judges on their decisions.........Can't make everyone happy, although wish we could. So, this year we want to try something different and let everyone be judged by their peers via online voting poll. True that the more friends and contacts you have the better chance you have of winning, but yet we have tons of traffic on our site, and there will be plenty of people voting on the piece that they like the best........So, have fun, good luck, and above all know that we here at FlameTree Glass love our flameworking community and wish that EVERYONE could win! Also, Thanks to Glass Torch Technologies, we can have this contest which is designed to spread holiday cheer, especially in these challenging economic times.
Good Luck, and once again have a Very Merry Christmas from all of us here at FlameTree Glass and Glass Torch Technologies!!!
Keep those flames burnin and melt that snow yo!,

I'm in! Whoo hoo! Didn't get a chance to successfully trap the ghost of xmas past in a globe but learned a couple pointers trying. More pics of my snowmen (and a closeup of the implode/blue passion, aqua sparkle marble) can be seen in the picture section on the forum. Thanks for the contest!
