SCULPTURE AND LAMPWORKING TECHNIQUES with SALT

$420 + $30 material fee (non-refundable)

January 28-30, Fri-Sun (10am-5pm)

Don't miss out on this rare opportunity to learn trade secrets from one of the most unique glass artists in the industry! In this class Salt will demonstrate his method broken down into four major parts: 1. Eye balls - Salt will include his entire process and how he discovered it by demonstrating the many methods he has used to create eyeballs including how to make your own eye cane. 2. Construction - The addition of solid materials to a blown form to achieve a desired shape or effect. 3. Carving - This method will cover all forms of gouging and shifting material in order to create 3d patterns and textures. 4. Relief - This unique approach that Salt has developed will showcase a combination of maneuvers that create some of the more interesting and nontraditional shapes that Salt is known for. Salt will also give brief lectures on such general subjects like "keeping it from cracking", "fixing it when it cracks", "making work that is unique to you", and "understanding the market and making more money". Students who take this class should expect to work hard and learn a lot, but above all it will be a good time!

i can tell you firsthand that this is more than worth the price of admission.

lukan(sp)/salt is great at what he does and also at teaching it.

bring a notepad, camera and an empty brain so you will have room for all the insane info you will recieve.

i wish i could come as i found his demos to be downright awesome and educational.

I'm not even an artist and I'd love to go to this class, lol. Salt's work is just amazing... no one quite does what he does. Hope anyone that attends will tell what it was like and show what they learned.
