whats the best multi purpose tubing size?keeping in mind i make a lot of spoon but i want to get into other stuff, maybe some bubblers n things....i was thinking about getting some 50x2.5 simax or a size right around there. i heard medium wall is better than heavy for fast spoon prodo as far as melting is color. not much experience here...

I think 50 x 2.5 might be on the large side.

How about 25.4HVW?

25.4 is, to me, about as standard as none handle tubing stock can get. A real workhorse.

Good luck and please post some pics of the work you make.

I usually stick with 25.4x5mm , 38 extra heavy wall for ISO spoons and such, and 50x5 for encasements and bigger guys. Good luck to ya!

edit: Simax for everything, though Iv heard the Kimble is decent for one section pieces(spoons and such)

I use 50x5. I make big prep and pull it down to about 25mm and make spoons and one hitters from that.

best multi-purpose tubing size, FOR ME, is 32mm, because its not too small and not too big, you can also work with 38 mill aswell for a good allaround, anything other than that i would say that it has a pretty specific purpose, ie. somthing small...25mm, or somthing big, ie 50mm, so best all around tubing size issss. 32 and 38mm heavy wall of course

38.1x4mm Great for iso work and small bubs. But I also use a lot of 44.4 and 55 standard.

25x4 outside work
32x4 i/o bats
38x4 i/o spoons
44x4 i/o Sherlock & blow ins
50x2.5 fume bats & spoons and frit
50x5 u can coil color around and pull down and stick stacks
different clear companys are all the same 31.7 or 32 whatever.
simax fumes great.
shott over strikes easy to me.
china fumes good but glass has it massed produced in chinaness, but saves u money for prodo

most of what i do is done on 25x4 or 32x4 but 38 is also good for bubs, as is the 32.
