The new, third generation filter for the glassworker: The AGW-300 filter.

This is a brand new filter, in a one-piece design (which means it isn't laminated). It works exactly the same as the AGW-186 filter, but is thinner, lighter in weight, and has a slightly higher visible light transmission rate.

Here's a link to the basic information on the filter: http://www.auralens.net/e_gw_agw300_announce.cfm

We expect to have product available for sale in about two weeks (2nd week of January). It will be introductory priced for as long as our initial run of glass lasts (depends on demand), then will be at it's regular price. The filter will be available in all of our frames, as well as customer-supplied frames.

We will have prescription lens blanks available by February or March 2006. We have sufficient stock of AUR-92 filter glass to last until the AGW-300 is fully in stock.

Once the AUR-92 filter material is gone, it will be discontinued in place of the AGW-300 material. Didymium will continue in stock probably until at least the middle of 2006, at which time we will make a decision about continuing that as a product as well, based on demand.

So these ARE NOT suitable for large boro work, right?

Apparently, it is. As long as it is all clear and non-fumed. :D

It is essentially AGW-186 in a one-piece lens instead of a laminated form.

By using a welder's clip, you can do large work, fume, etc.

We will be offering a split lens or full coverage with this lens as the base in the future, once we have a good solid amount of inventory on hand.

Sounds nice, let us know when you have this working as something better than the 286's and put me down for an Rx pair.

Have fun with your new glass

Where is a chart , or is it performing identical to the 186 ? What is the cost ? Can I still get them in supplied frames, if so what is the cost for just the lenses ? Is it basically ACE and AUR-94 mixed and formed? One last one , can you order just an AUR-94 filter , in any form ?

Charts are coming, this is preliminary information. Cost is coming as well. Can't/won't talk about the formulation, sorry.

We do have AUR-94, but it is hideously expensive (one reason why -186 and -286 are so expensive).
