This is a question for full time pipemakers mainly. I know that there will be a huge range and a lot of people will have different product lines that use varying amounts of gas. But on average how much product gets made per tank? My guess is between 2000 and 5000.

I was thinking about this because we've been using o2 a little faster than we're used to but have had a full house (5 stations) more as well.

A friend of mine was once telling me how much he paid per K tank and said that he gets 300 in product per tank so paying 20 dollars didn't bother him. That's over 6.5 cents per dollar.

I think that our shop has been getting around 3500 per liquid. very rough guess. That makes our o2 cost about 4 cents per dollar.

Anyways, just curious to see if anyone else has thought about this.

Seth and I were talking about it and it does sound like we're closer to five. that would make our o2 cost 2.66 cents per dollar

from liquid to k's...seems like it would mean more delivery cost and tank rental or lease which would really change the total price

I dig the difference in estimates between post #2 and post #3.

I'm just not sure who to believe.

Ha. Just kidding.

Id say that I pay 3 cents per dollar made for liquid oxy. And that is a low averege. Meaning mostly production.

i'm quite sure neither of us cares if you believe us. and if you notice my estimate ranged from exactly his estimate to another, so in part, we gave the same estimate.
