My wife and I are going to take our first bead class in febuary! We have taken fusing and tacking classes already. Our bead class is at studio here in Dallas. I am looking forward to not only learning bead making, I will also be able to help my customers with there kiln needs.
After we finish class we will be asking a lot of bead questions from all of you. I look forward to all your help.

You will love it.
The people at KR care a lot for their business and for the world of glass, they have a great teaching crew and a well used and well cared for shop.
Good luck, have fun and post some pics.

Finished our first day of bead class!! I can see where everybody needs there own custom work station. But bead making is fun! First thing I am going to do is start building arm rests for either side of torch.

Arm rest are OK but I prefer to elevate and move my torch forward so I can get my elbows on the table. Then I use a steady to rest my hand on to stabilize the mandrel and stringer hand. Soup can, O2 bottle top or what I use, 2 small pieces of 2x4 screwed together in an L shape cut to the right height. It's nice to be something you can move out of the way.
I teach a mean Bead class when you get to an intermediate level
Feel free to ask me questions.

I am designing both arm rests and wrist stabilizers. Mostly for people like myself who are older with arthritis or other conditions. I need something to help keep everything steady.
