Can't wait to hit this up, was planning a trip to corning this year, this just helped me pick the date! Probably try to get out there a day or two before so i can check out CMOG before the crowds get out there.

They finally updated the site and now this "Please review the attached materials and submit your application for participation no later than December 15, 2010. Entries received by the December 15 deadline will pay a reduced entry fee of only $(we will fill in)." This is kinda fucked up b/c the site wasn't updated until recently. And how to I participate in the Flameoff without setting up a tent and selling my shit. I'm just going for the good times and would like to compete w/o investing any money (which will be reserved for the local taverns in Corning). I just took a quick look at the site so maybe I missed something???

What? Corning is charging for people and vendors to come to this?
Outrageous!

its confusing but if you look close at the app it is not actually due until march 15, so there is plenty of time to sign up.
the fees are rediculously cheap compared to the art shows i reguarly do.
the big issue i see as an artist and the one that is gonna hold them back on entrants is the insurance clause. 1 million in insurance is an interesting clause to have.
i personally do have my show stuffs on a seperate insurance carrier but i cant think of many artist that do.
the price is right and the event sounds cool, but the insurance will be a deterant for sure.

Prizes will include 1 week tuition paid class at Corning glass, Griffen glass foot pedal, Corning glass DVD'z....Vendors will be there....Josh is one the guys at World Glass setting up the event. I'll be there but I'm not getting a hotel so I can drop off my torch and equipment the day before the flameoff...I'll definately be dropping some cash on some new glass, tools, and beer.
