Hey guys it took me a while to get around to taking these pics because of relentless snow fall here in the mountains but here they are.

This piece is from the event at the Asheville Glass Center that was sponsored by Mtn Glass Arts, to benefit habitat for humanity which is holding a fund raising auction this year after they finish renovations to the local Habitat Home Store.

Together Shane Smith and I made this piece over the course of two days this past December. It weighs 2lbs 6.3oz and stands almost a foot and a half tall. We had a great time making it and look forward hopefully being able to do this again should mtn glass call upon us. At the event many glassblowers were able to put together work to be donated for the auction. If anyone has pics of the event please feel free to post them here so I can see them too.

So very nice! I always enjoy seeing something you've made. I would have never known this is a collab if you didn't say. It flows so smoothly.

Shane Smith is a killer artist as well. I have 6 of his pieces in my personal collection.

Its true he is an amazing person and artist...many of the other blowers in this area consider him to be the best around. I am fortunate to have learned almost everything I know from him.

We had been calling the project La Flama Blanca after the mighty Kenny Powers in East Bound and Down season 2.

What I have heard from the Habitat People is that the piece will be the centerpiece of the auction so we are really excited about the prospect of added promotion. If anyone happens to be at Mtn Glass Arts before it heads to the show you can see it along with the other donated works which are also very impressive.
