On the list there.. Greenleaf has been gone for about 6 years, maryjanes has 3 new stores, one in portland. there is a new shop down from the mary janes on 23 and i hear there is a new store up from third eye thats good.
smoking glass is always a good one but changing locations again and the hot box has another store.
hot box is the one thats worth checking out and bridging boro too!! definitely gotta check bridging boro.
everything else around is too much prodo.. most of all of us portlanders and locals ship our glass outside of the state. i really only deal with one or two shops around here.

Mellow Mood is the new shop on hawthorne. Sweet ass shop, lots of VERY heady glass. The owner just moved out here from Minnesota.
And Smoking Glass is not open right now

smoking glass is for sale also. I saw it on craigslist. I should buy it and start a new style shop to benefit the blowers more than your pocket books. I had this crazy idea to open pipe shops that were owned by the local glassblowers, then you could get way more for your glass and you would be part owner. We shall see, but the idea is cool.

CO-OP. i'd be down.
yeah, it was on craigslist for a day or two. something about a divorce, and that they were trying to see what people might be interested/offer for the place.
yes abe do it! you could have it be a co-op style place where all the members are pipe makers and everyone could work retail like one day a week or month. so you would not have to pay an employee for that part. sweet idea. and if someone came in and really liked one style they could order a custom or what not and you could have some work benches so when you had to do retail you did not necessarily have to take a whole day off. and eventually you could sort of franchise them around so that every major city had a co-op shop that carried members glass only. that way you would not be limited to only one or two locations. sounds like a plan who's in?
