Well, if any of you study venetian than you will obviously know what the Guggenheim Grande Chalices are. This is definately nowhere near close to the original complexity of the pieces I have been looking at... but a few more tries and I will have one of my own.
This one was so damn fun to make.

I don't know about most folks who have taken Cesare's course... but that lacy stem shit has always stuck in my craw how I can't do it very well. So instead of doing only two phineals, I did eight with two of them doubled up to give it symmetry.
The ironic part about this kind of architecture is that it is super tough and can take a beating and it is very comfortable in the hand.
I apologize for the photo's, I will be working on that one.

All that bling, its hard to see whats happenin' in the stem. Now just stack three of those stem sections and its a Guggenheim relative, like a cousin or nephew. Rex do you have any pictures of the original piece that everyone can see where you're coming from?
Italian excercises in glass will undoubtedly make anyones skills much better. Can also make a person want to give up glassblowing.
I'll try and get one of J. Macks Guggenheim images to post.

There, I added another one to clearly show the work in the stem by only doing two fins. Get it now bling bling lovers?

OK, I finally got images of Jeff Mack's guggenheim goblets, all furnace work. They are roughly 24" tall. Hopefully the file attachment thing works, if not maybe someone can help me out.

Now that is tizight!
I think I might have a rundown on the stem work now. At least a plan. A couple more attempts and a new photo setup and I'll try it again. The presto stampo is another story as you can probably imagine. These are well done and look like the one of the Guggenheims that I really like.

I did not make those goblets. As much as I want to take credit for them. Jeff Mack, whom I work with at GreenField Village made those. He's one of the better venetian glass blowers out there.
