Beginner Glass Blowing Part 1 -

Location: FlameTree Glass School in Historic Roswell, Georgia
April 16th (Saturday) 10-5 pm 2011
Come learn the basics of glass blowing at the torch. Working on a GTT phantom torch and using clear borosilicate tubing, you will learn to pull points. From there you will learn to blow out small ornaments, jars and a small bottle. Each Student will learn to use all the necessary tools for glassblowing; such as, cup shears, diamond shears, flaring tools, tweezers, and punty.

Beginner Glass Blowing Part 2 -

Date: April 17th (Sunday) 10-5 pm 2011
In this class you will learn to prepare you own colored tubing. Then with this prepared material, you will create a bottle, a jar or an ornament! Each student will get hands on instruction with all the necessary glassblowing tools; such as, cup shears, diamond shear, flaring tools, tweezers and punty. This class starts the student on his or her journey in using color in creating beautiful hollow forms. Other color techniques such as trailing, coil potting, encalmo, and montage are discussed.
Beginner Glass Blowing skills required.
