that is very interesting, but i know when i stand, I tend to hunch, so sitting gives me better posture.

Wow! That's an amazing study! Thank's for posting, it's gotten me to adjust my bench back up so I can work standing. I still can't believe it doubles your chances of having a heart attack... with all the crazy stuff I do / put into my body, standing's one thing I'm definitely gonna do more of! +1

I think that like the article said, If you get up and walk around after each piece, and take breaks its ok. Sitting down for an hour at a time to work on a piece isnt ganna be bad for you. I think its more the sitting in one spot for 4-5 hours, having lunch, sitting back in the same spot for 4-5 hours, and then going home and sitting on the couch for 4-5 hours that would increase your risk, if there even is a risk. im personally not going to stop sitting down while i work because of this article, but i will take it into consideration. get up, walk around, make a piece standing up, and then sit back down, no sense in standing all day..

I've been standing for years after sitting for even longer. My brother has an office job. He just got his boss to buy him a desk for standing. It adjusts down in case he needs to meet a client or something but now he stands at his desk.
