here they are folks, some more progression pics.

Top left: black with white stripes, I did 3 on each side and was calling her A.D.I.D.A.S,
right before she cracked off of the blow tube. Bowl got wonky on me, I attribute it to the fact
that this was my first time trying this technique. Oh well, another day.
Top right: Rasta spoon
Bottom left: bottom of rasta spoon
Bottom right: Termination of rasta spoon.

Both of the tubes used to make these pipes started out as 2-3 inches of 25mm, it was coated with black then color added after the black was melted in, more clear was added using 4mm rod then all melted in. Tube was stretched to about 6 inches, switchbacks were added then the pipe was shaped. I dare say, my skills have improved. I know there is tons of room for improvement but man I'm proud of myself at this point!

That red and orange one looks good. Termination looks clean, and the switchbacks look natural. Looking good.

very nice esp the rasta. not sure why you did the black first then color rather than intergrate then at the same time, but it looks like it work for you

So since you are already doing the rod encasement, try this.
1) Lay your line pattern down all the way around on a clear blank.
2) Heat and marver the now color covered blank until it is smooth.
3) Encase the entire outside of the smooth blank with 10mm+ rod.
4) Heat and marver the clear coated blank until it is smooth ( remember you may neex to puff into the blow tube to keep the inner diameter the.size you want it.
5) Heat the whole blank focusing on the ends (the heat base will naturally build up in the middle) and pull down to your desired length and thickness.

Now you can take sections of your lined tube and make spoons, reversals, whatever you want.

The thick layer of clear over the top and.the clear blank you start with will help make your color go a long way.

Yeah that's to much work for a single spoon. Try that tech out^^

Or instead of steps 1-5 he could do a vac stack in 20 minutes....................... Try one with 3-4" sticks, they are super easy!

Wf yeah vac stacks rock but you need all the glass/tools to do it. I'm still waiting to have the extra cash for some rollers. Not essential for smaller stacks but bigger ones would kill me.

any reason to marver after laying color before adding clear? im newer... but whenever ive done a tube pull, ive just layed the clear on right after laying the color... Ive had some nice pulls i feel, with zero-minimal bubbles

Not the same effect at all WF. Not picking a fight that one is better then the other. but two entirely different results, and both are worth having in your arsenal of techniques.

You get a more even consistent thickness through out the whole tube pull. I am not saying you cant a good result, but give marvering it smooth a try and see what you think. Like most things with glass personal preference plays a big part.
