Hey everyone, great group of people across the board here. Leaving my scratch on the tree here.

I'm new to the glass scene, but have been 'E-learning' on/off for 2-3 years now. The itch is getting bigger and I'd have to start from the ground up. I'll be on here asking questions from time to time about setting up a little area. I also hope to post a progression post in the future.

The torch I'm looking into is the Red Max with top being a surface mix. I'd like a torch that can do bigger things for 'future proof' till I get a few years into it, everyone loves the GTT Barracuda... It does seem to have a nice smooth flame to it w/ the center jet style... but what do I know :shifty:

I'm from the Chicago area holding down the western end. Looks like an endless fun hobby, just need the skills and ideas.

What size space, table area, and torch 'flame room' for a Red Max size torch would be appropriate? Being in a house, running a hose in and out to the propane tank seems like a great safety rule, but in all practicality could you have the tank in another room/the full 25' away? Am I looking at this safety issue in a bad way? (The tank I have in my mind is a BBQ tank, is that the normal size?) It's just I seen that some people do it out of there apartment. The O2 is okay to keep in the house correct? I hear the Red Max uses a 300 tank? in 8-12 Hrs of use, what about a BBQ Propane tank any range?

Thanks everyone!! Can't wait to get in the discussions. :chilling::drool::party::spend::confetti::tiphat:

Sweet deals, being the sponge is the best advice to anyone. It goes with "Teach a man to fish" You can only teach so much... I'm not new to the forum life style, have been on a number of em, mainly hands on, knowledge forums... like this one!

I have read a good amount from both of you`s guys so far. I like to join a forum and power read in the sub sections for a page or two depending on the activity of that section. Best part of being on a new forum type. Everything is new. I seen something about a show/gathering in Wis. or Il. I need to jump into that area again. The Chicago/Wis. area does seem to have a lot of friendly and knowledgeable people. It's time to check around the posts, Thanks guys.

I tab so much chrome bleeds, past the chrome down to the nickel... it bleeds...
