I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Marvin Crenshaw, about 5 years ago I started MAC Kilns to sell and repair kilns. (of course) I was working as a production machine technician, 2-1/2 years ago I ruptured my left achilles at work. The first surgery was not succesful the tendon detached. So back under the knife we go to clean out hardware from first surgery. So now it is December 2009 and we go back in to try to fix tendon again. As all this is going on the company I worked for refuses to file workers comp so I am paying for everything. Now the doctor says he is going to leave cast on for 6 weeks to make sure surgery works. Well guess what it go infected inside of the cast. Now I get a lawyer to make company file workers comp, I get back lost pay but none of the money paid for surgery. It takes workers comp 6 months to get surgery approved. Now it is January 2011 and the infection is now into the bone, 16 weeks of IV antibiotics and another surgery. Now here we are to May and the doc says at least three more months of nothing but light walking.

So now I am trying to take my little part time company to a full time job. I do not want to file disability, but my doctors tell me I will not be able to do my old job again(10 hours a day on my feet). That sucks! But i am sure going to try and make MAC Kilns a full time thing, I would rather make my own way. One good thing my wife and I started beadmaking just for something I could do while sitting, bad thing is we are now addicted.

Thank you for letting me tell my story, and thanks fo reading it.

Welcome man! Hope to see some sick kiln setups :)

Sorry to hear about your ongoing medical crap... I am all too familar with that crap myself...

Sometimes its really hard to not think that the medical industry is not just another big business out to take our money while keeping us medicated... granted not medicated to fix the problem but medicated into complacency.

The only difference between a patient and junky is who takes your money

That sounds pretty rough, good thing you're making the best of it. Welcome to the forum and hey, at least beadmaking is a healthy addiction!
