i need to know what colors and other raw materials that the teams will want asap. or atleast an idea of what to tell the sponsors to send anyways. the sooner the better

i can do nice earthy blow-ins with china blue and green.

for sculpted flowers, i like multi, dbl amber purple, canary, plum krazy. id like to do some vines with a brighter green wrapping up the side or for a bridge, like a heavenly blue morning glory or HBW. Ill try and do some partially developed flowers and buds rather than blooming ones, but either way spring is a flowering season.

Possibly use some browns or reduced muddy colors to emphasize how nasty it gets from the melt and rain.

i was gonna say possibly make it connect with the winter piece to emphasize the transition of the seasons...either physically with a gong fitting, or just some elements within the piece since its such a long change and it goes back and forth from nice days to shitty weather. something like icy slushy puddles or a melting river of some sort? idk think about it.

thinking about color palette, id like to do lots of brighter lime greens, like new growth greens and maybe some pastel colors, periwinkle is one that came to mind...kinda easter colors but def bright.

maybe a disk inline with plant life starting to grow up it as horns and bridges? we should all do some shroomies and make some clusters of those within and around patches of both sculpted and flower marbs...just make it poppin with new life.

my brain's shooting duds, bright and happy and pastel is not even close to my style, and I've never even come close to being interested in making a flower aside from maybe implosion flowers, which Im not very practiced in.

i can pull off the flowers and implosions if need be, i think its kinda necessary for spring. i asked friends and familly what they thought of for spring and every single person suggested birds, flowers, rain, and greens and blues.

maybe focus on how windy and shitty this spring has been?...wind, rain, lightening. or how bout some bugs? possibly some sort of freakish alien caterpillar coming out of a pod or something? i dont think we can do the whole piece like that and keep it spring themed, but its def closer to what you like.

id really like to use new life and nature as inspiration....some bright greens for developing plant life, the pastels i really dont care about, just kinda thought of those from easter.

honestly im kinda worried if we cant think of something else. like i said everyone ive asked thinks of flowers and happy shit for spring, not necessarily what im into, but i can go with it at least.

yoyo whats happening spring team i am finally allowed to post I got a great idea. Coffee table with integrated fuctional piece. We should try to meet up in milwaukee area some time real soon and draw some shit up. I do really cool metal and glass sculpture so i could deffinatly whip up a sweet table with glass plant life, flowers, creatures crawling/growing up the legs. I think we should all do what we do best use our own styles and make it work. And yea not everyone is into happy shit so we should hit all areas of the spectrum. Looking forward to meeting spring team.

We can try to create a thunderstorm oil rig maybe try to recreate a thunderhead cloud with some discs and bubbles and lightning bolts with some bright yellow tubing going down to the main chamber for the darker mean side of spring. For the brighter happier side we can do all kinds of vinework and flowers growing up the 3 legs of the table. Glass top with a hole in it for the globe/pull bowl.Put the thunderstorm under the table top so it can be viewed and engulfed by the growth of spring. April showers bring May flowers or something like that.

right on. i live less than a mile off the freeway on south 76th st in milwaukee, but i cant drive so would you wanna meet at my apartment to draw some stuff? i can offer my mig welder, and i know jake (alien) was a welder for some time. i was actually just gonna try my first oil rig today or tomorrow :)

Heys, Just found our team thread here. I'M the newb of the group so if you guys need your cigs lit or a coffee, im your guy. Haha JK Sounds like you gives have some good ideas, I really like the idea of plant life and shrooms on the sculpture. And a metal stand to go with would be sickk Ed. Maybe a Spring Break type theme would work too.
Well cant wait to work and learn from you guys, hopefully i can contribute to the group effort.

Ed and I got together for a brainstorming session last week, came up with a nice idea. Main body would be a big clear tornado made from some tube flattened on 3 sides and twisted so when smoke goes through it....well you can picture that. At the Base there would be some big green flat discs for scenery ( sculpted stuff, shit flying around the twister, think Munchkinland, maybe Dorothy's house) The top would be a big thundercloud with some dichro strips welded to the bottom for lighting bolts (just flat unworked strips)

The green disc the twister welds to could be water filled, the tornado should be big enough to make natural perc function. GOG bowl could be ? something sculpted? The additional discs make for stability of course as well as settings for more sculpting/scenery. Flowers, trees, bunnies, whatever.

Here's a rough draft, lets get some input going.

got almost everything that was requested. minus a few minor things. new kiln will be here tomorrow. just hope adding it wont be too much draw on the main breaker. guess ill find out tomorrow. kiln space shouldnt be a worry.
