yep that is what i use it for, nothing else to do and one of my coolest pieces of work yet (haven't been doin it long so give me some time)
its annealed, and i've dropped/used it plenty of times.. soft glass isn't that soft hehe.

Will it break your teeth if you bite into it? Does it change colors as you suck on it?

suck on the pipe hard enough, put the stopper on the cherry and it make transmit the glow of the cherry from the point you touch the cherry to the other point cchanging colors. ;)

you know what dude? i could use one of these things. everytime i smoke out of a pipe, my fingertips get black because i will usually give the bowl a stir or pack to get it to burn more thickly. next time you're up in the area, bring one for me :D

you all ever heard of a grivo? same concept but with a poker at one end and a ball of glass at the other. also works great for lighting your bowl just heat up the one end with a butane torch or torch lighter and away you go...best tasting hit ever almost like a vaporizer hit.

this raises a question: let's say i had a bowl packed in my studio but no lighter was to be found..... if i heated up the end of a thin CLEAR rod and mashed it onto the top of the bowl while drawing through the stem, would i be inhaling anything other than burning plant matter? aka would there be any weird outgassing from the glass that i should be concerned with?

I don't know i hope not cause its my fav way to smoke... sometimes i'll make a pinch and as soon as i finish the bowl on it i pack it while its still hot with a tweezers and take a rip...frickin awesome

never heard of it called a grivo, just a vapor wand.. and names of that sort... as for the alacrity's question, im pretty sure its healthier by some tiny diff to really smoke by heating up glass and touching the plant matter... rather than using a light leaking gas to make that flame which all can't combust... right? i dunno thats my guess.
